Abstract

The present invention is a hospital gown garment that includes a base hospital gown with a front facing, a back facing and a pair of arms and a plurality of zippers that include a first zipper and a second zipper that are disposed on the pair of arms of the base hospital gown, the first zipper and the second zipper allow easy and quick access to a patient's arms. The plurality of zippers also include a third zipper that is vertically disposed on a middle portion of the front facing, the third zipper allows easy and quick access to a patient's back, the plurality of zippers include a fourth zipper that is disposed vertically on a middle portion of the back facing and the fourth zipper allows easy and quick access to a patient's back area.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUND

Currently there have been minimal developments in the design of standardized medical gowns. Traditional coverings employ snaps which tend to be challenging when a patient or a nurse attempts to open or close the garment.
The present invention generally relates to a garment. More specifically, the invention is a hospital gown garment.
It is an object of the invention to provide a hospital gown garment that utilizes a plurality of two-way zippers as a plurality of fasteners.
It is an object of the invention to provide a hospital gown garment that allows a caregiver to relatively more easily and quickly access a patient.
It is an object of the invention to provide a hospital gown garment that utilizes a plurality of two-way zippers that allows a caregiver to access a plurality of critical body areas of a patient.
What is really needed is a hospital gown garment that utilizes a plurality of two-way zippers as a plurality of fasteners that allow a caregiver to relatively more easily and quickly access a patient that utilizes a plurality of two-way zippers that allows a caregiver to access a plurality of critical body areas of a patient.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.
Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention. However, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.
The phrase “in one embodiment” is utilized repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.
FIG. 1A illustrates a front view of a hospital gown garment 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The hospital gown garment 100 includes a base hospital gown 110 and a plurality of zippers 120. The base hospital gown 110 has a front facing 112, a back facing 114 and a pair of arms 116. The base hospital gown 110 can be made of cotton, flannel or other suitable material relatively easily washed in hot water. The base hospital gown 110 can be disposable and made of disposable paper, disposable plastic or any other suitable disposable material. A first zipper 122 and a second zipper 124 are disposed on the pair of arms 116 of the base hospital gown 110. The first zipper 122 and a second zipper 124 allow relatively easy and quick access to a patient's arms. A third zipper 126 is vertically disposed on a middle portion 118 of the front facing 112. The third zipper 126 allows relatively easy and quick access to a patient's back. The third zipper 126 is approximately 30 inches in length and is disposed on the middle portion 118 of the front facing 112 although the third zipper can be any suitable length. The first zipper 122 and second zipper 124 disposed on the pair of arms 116 are approximately 14 inches in length and run from a shoulder portion 111 of the base hospital gown 110 to the sleeve 113 of the base hospital gown 110 although the first and second zippers can be any suitable length. The zippers 120, 122, 124, 126 are two-way zippers 121 with a tab 123 on each end 125 of the zippers and can be made of any other suitable material such as metal or plastic.
FIG. 1B illustrates a back view of a hospital gown garment 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The hospital gown garment 100 illustrated and described in FIG. 1A and its description is similar to the hospital gown garment 100 illustrated and described in FIG. 1B and its description and includes a similar base hospital gown 110 and a plurality of zippers 120. The plurality of zippers 120 includes a fourth zipper 128 that is disposed vertically on a middle portion 115 of the back facing 114. The fourth zipper 128 allows a caregiver relatively easy and quick access to a patient's back area. The fourth zipper 128 is approximately 36 inches in length although the fourth zipper can be any suitable length. The fourth zipper 128 is a two-way zipper 121 with a tab 123 on each end 125 of the zipper 128 and can be any other suitable material such as metal or plastic.
The hospital gown garment is a suitable adaption to uniform gowns that offers a zipper control fitting in contrast to a plurality of independent snap buttons found on traditional hospital gowns. Made from quality fabric materials, the hospital gown garment possesses a centralized two-way zipper extending for approximately 30 inches disposed on the front of the hospital gown garment in addition to, a separate zipper of approximately 36 inches disposed on the back of the hospital gown garment. The extending arms of the gown each have a zipper of approximately 14 inches to provide a relatively simple and quick way for a patient to prepare for medical examinations. The hospital gown garment is readily available at medical supply retailers. The hospital gown garment offers a relatively simplistic but highly effective method for controlling physical exposure when wearing a hospital gown. The hospital gown garment features a four part zipper designed covering that affords patients with a well-suited alternative to standardized hospital attire.
While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.

Claims

1. A hospital gown garment, comprising:

a base hospital gown with a front facing, a back facing and a pair of arms; and

a plurality of zippers that include a first zipper and a second zipper that are disposed on said pair of arms of said base hospital gown, said first zipper and said second zipper allow easy and quick access to a patient's arms, said plurality of zippers include a third zipper that is vertically disposed on a middle portion of said front facing, said third zipper allows easy and quick access to a patient's back, said plurality of zippers include a fourth zipper that is disposed vertically on a middle portion of said back facing, said fourth zipper allows easy and quick access to a patient's back area.

2. The hospital gown garment according to claim 1, wherein said base hospital gown is made of cotton.

3. The hospital gown garment according to claim 2, wherein said base hospital gown is made of flannel.

4. The hospital gown garment according to claim 1, wherein said base hospital gown is disposable.

5. The hospital gown garment according to claim 4, wherein said base hospital gown is made of disposable paper.

6. The hospital gown garment according to claim 4, wherein said base hospital gown is made of disposable plastic.

7. The hospital gown garment according to claim 1, wherein said zippers include a tab on each end of said zippers.

8. The hospital gown garment according to claim 1, wherein said zippers are made of metal.

9. The hospital gown garment according to claim 1, wherein said zippers are made of plastic.

10. The hospital gown garment according to claim 1, wherein said third zipper is approximately 30 inches in length.

11. A hospital gown garment, comprising:

a base hospital gown with a front facing, a back facing and a pair of arms; and

a plurality of zippers that include a first zipper and a second zipper that are disposed on said pair of arms of said base hospital gown, said first zipper and said second zipper allow easy and quick access to a patient's arms, said plurality of zippers include a third zipper that is vertically disposed on a middle portion of said front facing, said third zipper allows easy and quick access to a patient's back, said plurality of zippers include a fourth zipper that is disposed vertically on a middle portion of said back facing, said fourth zipper allows easy and quick access to a patient's back area, said zippers include a tab on each end of said zippers.

12. The hospital gown garment according to claim 11, wherein said base hospital gown is made of cotton.

13. The hospital gown garment according to claim 12, wherein said base hospital gown is made of flannel.

14. The hospital gown garment according to claim 11, wherein said base hospital gown is disposable.

15. The hospital gown garment according to claim 14, wherein said base hospital gown is made of disposable paper.

16. The hospital gown garment according to claim 14, wherein said base hospital gown is made of disposable plastic.

17. The hospital gown garment according to claim 11, wherein said zippers are a plurality of two way zippers.

18. The hospital gown garment according to claim 11, wherein said zippers are made of metal.

19. The hospital gown garment according to claim 11, wherein said zippers are made of plastic.

20. The hospital gown garment according to claim 11, said first zipper and said second zipper are approximately 14 inches in length, wherein said third zipper is approximately 30 inches in length and said fourth zipper is approximately 36 inches in length.
