Abstract
A slowing device for slowing scrolling speed of belt of barrier poles includes a storage unit having a rotor to which the belt is wrapped. The rotor has an axle extending therefrom and located in the room of the storage unit. The rotor scrolls the belt backward when the belt is released. The slowing device is located in the storage unit and has two braking pieces which contact the inner wall of the room due to centrifugal force so that the belt does not move at high speed and does not injure people when being pulled or retracted.
Description
- The present invention relates to a slowing device, and more particularly, to a slowing device for slowing scrolling speed of the belt of barrier poles.
- The conventional belt-
type barrier 9 is disclosed inFIG. 8 and comprises apole 91 and a scrollingportion 911 is located on the top of thepole 91 so as to operate thebelt 92. The scrollingportion 911 has a torsion spring (not shown) to scroll thebelt 92. Thebelt 92 has ahook 921 so as to be hooked to the scrollingportion 911 of anotherpole 91. By cooperation ofmultiple poles 91 and thebelts 92 hooked to other scrollingportions 911 of thepoles 91, a barrier is formed. Thepoles 91 are easily carried and transported, and thebelts 92 are easily set and operated so that the belt-type barrier 9 is used widely for setting movement lines in larger sites such as performing halls, dancing balls or the like. - The present invention intends to provide a slowing device for slowing the scrolling speed of the belt of the belt-type barrier poles and which is easily operated and manufactured.
- The present invention relates to a slowing device for slowing scrolling speed of the belt of barrier poles and comprises a storage unit having a rotor located therein and the rotor has an axle which extends into a room in the storage unit. A belt is scrolled to the rotor and the rotor scrolls the belt backward when the belt is released. The slowing device is located in the room and has at least two braking pieces and a guide member. The at least two braking pieces are connected to two wing rods of the guide member which is secured at the center of the room.
- Preferably, the braking pieces each are a crescent piece, the
guide member 31 is a circular cylindrical rod and the two wing rods extend horizontally from the circular cylindrical rod. Each of the at least two braking pieces has a connection hole and the wing rods are connected to the connection holes of the at least two braking pieces. - The rotor is rotated to rotate the slowing device and the at least two braking pieces move away from the guide member by centrifugal force and contact the inner wall of the room to slow the belt.
- Preferably, the room is defined by a top cap and a mediate part, wherein the top cap has a disk and a flange extends from the underside of the disk. The flange is inserted into the recessed area of the mediate part to form the room. The at least two braking pieces contact the inner wall of the flange of the room when the rotor rotates. The guide has a hexagonal rod extending from the underside thereof. The hexagonal rod extends through the central hole of the mediate part. The rotor has a hexagonal hole defined in the axle and the hexagonal rod is connected to the hexagonal hole of the axle so that the rotor can drive the slowing device. The top cap and the mediate part are fixed to the top of the storage unit by multiple bolts.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

Theroom 12 is defined by atop cap 13 and amediate part 14, wherein thetop cap 13 has adisk 131 and aflange 132 extends from the underside of thedisk 131. Theflange 132 is inserted into therecessed area 141 of themediate part 14 to form theroom 12. The inner wall of theflange 132 of theroom 12 is provided to be in contact with twobraking pieces 32 of the slowingdevice 3 to slow thebelt 2. Thetop cap 13 and themediate part 14 are fixed to the top of thestorage unit 10 bymultiple bolts 15. Theaxle 111 of therotor 11 is inserted into thecentral hole 142 of themediate part 14 so as to drive the slowingdevice 3 in theroom 12. - The
belt 2 is scrolled to therotor 11 in thestorage unit 10. Thehook 20 of thebelt 2 is located outside of thecase 1 so that the users can easily pull thebelt 2 and hook thebelt 2 to anotherstorage unit 10. Therotor 11 scrolls thebelt 2 backward by thetorsion spring 16 when thebelt 2 is released. - The slowing
device 3 and theaxle 111 of therotor 11 are both located in theroom 12 and the slowingdevice 3 has at least twobraking pieces 32 and aguide member 31. The at least twobraking pieces 32 are connected to twowing rods 311 of theguide member 31. The at least twobraking pieces 32 each are a crescent piece. FIG. 7 , when the users pull thebelt 2, therotor 11 and the slowingdevice 3 are rotated, the at least twobraking pieces 32 move away from theguide member 31 by centrifugal force and contact the inner wall of theflange 132. Friction is generated between theflange 132 and the at least two brakingpieces 32, so that the movement of thebelt 3 is slowed. Similarly, when thebelt 2 is released, thebelt 2 is scrolled to therotor 11, the at least two brakingpieces 32 move away from theguide member 31 by centrifugal force and contact the inner wall of theflange 132. Friction is generated between theflange 132 and the at least two brakingpieces 32, so that the movement of thebelt 3 is also slowed. The speed that thebelt 3 is operated is slowed so that thebelt 3 does not injure people. - The
flange 132 of thetop cap 13 is inserted to the recessedarea 141 of the mediatepart 14, and thehexagonal rod 312 of theguide member 31 extends through the secondcentral hole 142 of the mediatepart 14 and is connected to thehexagonal hole 112 of theaxle 111, so thataxle 111 of therotor 11 can rotate the slowingdevice 3.
