Abstract
A portable container includes a triangular prism shaped transparent case comprising an open bottom and three structural elements each extending downward from one of three angles of its top to an intermediate position of one of three longitudinal edges of the case; a handle secured to the top of the case; a triangular bottom member fitted onto the bottom of the case; and a shelf comprising an inclined top for dividing an internal space of the case into an upper space and a lower space, a side surface, and a continuous projecting edge extending downward from two edges of its top and extending toward one of the three longitudinal edges of the case. The shelf is secured between bottom ends of the structural elements and the bottom member.
Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The invention relates to containers and more particularly to a portable container with object exhibit and other beneficial characteristics.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- One conventional type of portable container is adapted to contain one or more objects by enclosing. Further, a picture, illustration, or description is adhered to the surface of the container for attracting public attention. However, in often times it is not enough to truly show the object(s) simply by the picture, illustration, or description.
- Another conventional type of portable container has each of one or more surfaces being provided with a transparent plastic film. However, its structural strength is weak. That is, it is not resistant to collision.
- Thus, the need for improvement still exists.
- It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a portable, structurally strong container capable of exhibiting one or more objects stored therein.
- The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of portable container according to the invention; -
FIG. 2 is a view similar toFIG. 1 with the strap handle being removed; -
FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the container ofFIG. 2 ; -
FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of the case ofFIG. 3 ; -
FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of the shelf ofFIG. 3 ; -
FIG. 6 is a view similar toFIG. 1 with the strap handle being shown in a circle; -
FIG. 7 is a view similar toFIG. 1 with an object (e.g., mouse) being contained therein; and -
FIG. 8 is a view similar toFIG. 7 with a product description being adhered to a lower portion of one of three side surfaces of the container. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 8 , aportable container 5 in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention is shaped as a triangular prism and comprises acase 1, ashelf 2, abottom member 3, and astrap handle 4. Each component is discussed in detail below. - The
case 1 is shaped as a triangular prism, is made of acrylic resin, and comprises atriangular top 14, two spacedholes 11 on thetop 14, a triangularopen bottom 12, and threestructural elements 13 each mounted on an upper portion of one of three longitudinal edges of thecase 1 wherein the edge is formed between two adjacent side surfaces of thecase 1. It is noted that two of the threestructural elements 13 are of the same length and the remaining one of the threestructural elements 13 is shorter than the other twostructural elements 13. Also, thetop 14 and three side surfaces of thecase 1 are transparent. - The
shelf 2 is also made of acrylic resin and comprises a triangularinclined top 22, aslit 23 on thetop 22, aside surface 21, and a continuousprojecting edge 24 extending downward from two edges of thetop 22 and extending laterally toward one of the three longitudinal edges of thecase 1. Theedge 24 can increase the structural strength of theshelf 2. Theshelf 2 is mounted under the bottom ends of thestructural elements 13 with the three angles of thetop 22 being urged against the bottom ends of theshelf 2. - The
triangular bottom member 3 comprises a continuous upward projecting edge (not numbered) for giving it strength. Thebottom member 3 is fitted onto the bottom of thecase 1 to enclose theopen bottom 12 and the bottom edge of theshelf 2 is supported by the bottom of thebottom member 3. Theshelf 2 is thus secured between thestructural elements 13 and thebottom member 3. Also, anupper space 51 and alower space 52 are formed. Theupper space 51 communicates with thelower space 52 through theslit 23. Thestrap handle 4 has two enlargedends 41 adapted to secure to theholes 11. - An object (e.g., mouse) 5 is stored in both
spaces FIG. 7 ). Moreover, aproduct description 7 is further adhered to a lower portion of one of three side surfaces of the container 5 (seeFIG. 8 ). - The invention has the following advantages. A user may carry the
container 5 by holding thestrap handle 4. That is, an additional plastic bag for containing and carrying thecontainer 3 is eliminated. People can clearly see the content of theobject 6 in thecontainer 5 through the transparent side surfaces of thecontainer 5. Thus, the invention can attract public attention. Thecontainer 5 is structurally strong enough to resist collision. - While the invention herein disclosed has been described by means of specific embodiments, numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the claims.
