Abstract

A Slip-Notz™, bed band, in its operative position, utilizes multiple functions. Its primary function is to secure the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle onto a box springs of a bed set when it is mounted. A Slip-Notz™, bed band, is also, but not limited to, a decorative addition to the bedding ensemble; which may be created from the same fabric as the bed skirt/dust ruffle to blend in, or created from contrasting fabrics to complement the bed skirt/dust ruffle, said Slip-Notz™, bed band, utilizing, but not limited to, decorative trims.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to Slip-Notz™, an elasticized fabric-covered bed band; (hereinafter referred to as Slip-Notz™, bed band) that is configured to be stretched around the box springs of a bedding set to secure the bed skirt, also known as a dust ruffle, onto the box springs; and, more particularly, is directed towards holding the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle in place while the mattress is being placed onto the box springs, and the sheets are being tucked under the mattress to dress the bed.
  • 2. Summary of the Invention
  • It is an object of the present invention the Slip-Notz™, bed band, to relate a way of securing the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle onto the box springs of a bed set; and, more particularly, holding the bed skirt/dust ruffle stationery while the mattress is being placed on top of the box springs. In addition, the SlipNotz™, bed band, allows the sheets to be tucked under the mattress without lifting up the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle as the bed is being dressed with bed linens. The Slip-Notz™, bed band, includes elastic that is stretched through a stitched fabric casing and secured by, but not limited to, stitching the elastic together. The fabric is then closed by, but not limited to, stitching the ends together, resulting in an elasticized, fabric-covered band that may be stretched around the box springs of a bedding set to hold the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle stationery. The elasticity of the Slip-Notz™, bed band, allows ease of its application to the box springs. Other objects of the present invention will in part be obvious and will in part appear hereinafter.
  • The invention accordingly comprises, together with its parts, elements and inter-relationships that are exemplified in the following disclosure, the scope of which will be indicated in the appended claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • A fuller understanding of the nature and objects of the present invention will become apparent upon consideration of the following detailed description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a Slip-Notz™, bed band, embodying the invention in a relaxed position;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of some relative components embodied in the Slip-Notz™, bed band;
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the Slip-Notz™, bed band in FIG. 1 in its extended position and lying flat when mounted over the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle topping the box springs of a bed set; and
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the Slip-Notz™, bed band, in FIG. 1 in its extended position and lying gathered when mounted over the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle topping the box springs of a bed set.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring now to the drawings, in FIG. 1 there is shown a Slip-Notz™, bed band, embodying the present invention in a relaxed position. As hereinafter described, Slip-Notz™, bed band, 12 is movable between a relaxed position and an extended position. The relaxed position is shown in FIG. 1, and the extended position is shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. Slip-Notz™, bed band, 10 in FIG. 1 shows possible decorative trim applied to enhance the visual aspects of the Slip-Notz™, bed band.
  • Components of the Slip-Notz™, bed band, in FIG. 2A depict the fabric casing 12 as seam allowances are stitched; and 10 in FIG. 2B when seam is closed by stitching decorative trim to fabric casing. FIG. 2C shows the elastic 14 run through the fabric casing. The two ends of elastic 14 when completely run through the fabric casing are then box-stitched 18 in FIG. 2D to secure and complete the Slip-Notz™, bed band. The blind stitching of the two ends of fabric 16 in FIG. 2E completes a finished Slip-Notz™, bed band.
  • FIG. 3 shows the present invention applied to a box springs 22 on a bed frame 20 as it is stretched around the box springs 22 to lie flat as it secures the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle 24 onto the box springs 22.
  • FIG. 4 shows the present invention applied to a box springs 22 on a bed frame 20 as it is stretched around the box springs 22 to lie gathered as it secures the positioned bed skirt/dust ruffle 24 onto the box springs 22.

Claims (9)
