Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is directed to a lotion applicator that includes at least one strip and at least one finger slit to enable a person to apply lotion or other similar products to various regions of the skin that are hard to reach.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Persons applying lotion or other similar products to their skin often wish to apply the lotion or other similar products to their entire body. Additionally, most persons are unable to reach certain areas of the body, such as the upper and mid back areas. When a person wishes to apply lotion and other similar products to their skin, they often must skip hard-to-reach areas on their body or attempt to reach the hard-to-reach areas, usually causing some pain in their arms or hands. One solution to the described problem is a product with a head and handle where a person may fill the head with lotion and, using the handle, reach areas of the skin that are unreachable. However, this solution requires a large object that is not capable of being easily carried and is not disposable. Another solution is a flexible material wipe that one can use to apply lotion. However, this product is not disposable and is not capable of being used in a roll type application.
  • Therefore, there is a need for an improved lotion applicator, where a person may apply lotion or other similar products to hard-to-reach areas of the body and dispose of the lotion applicator for easy use.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an illustration of a lotion applicator roll according to the invention, including a strip, a first finger slit, and a second finger slit.
  • FIG. 2 is an illustration of a strip according to the invention.
  • DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The following is a listing of numbers corresponding to particular elements referred to herein:
  • Referring now to FIG. 1, a lotion applicator roll 200 comprises a first strip 110, first finger slit 112, and second finger slit 114. Finger slits 112 and 114 are for the user to insert fingers through for grasping the strip. In certain embodiments, strip 110 comprises a flexible material selected from the group consisting of cloth, cotton/polyester, polyester, sponge, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the flexible material can absorb a liquid, e.g., sweats, a lotion, and the like. In certain embodiments, strip 110 has a length of between about 24 inches and about 36 inches. In certain embodiments, strip 110 has a width of between about 1⅜ inches and about 1⅝ inches. In certain embodiments, strip 110 has a thickness between about 0.009 inch and about 0.015 inch. In certain embodiments, first finger slit 112 has a length of between about ⅞ inch and about 1⅛ inches. In certain embodiments, second finger slit 114 has a length of between about ⅞ inches and about 1⅛ inches.
  • When a user wishes to apply lotion to hard-to-reach areas body, e.g., the back, the user can apply any type of lotion or similar product to one side of strip 110. The user can then thread a first finger through the first finger slit 112 and a second finger through a second finger slit 114. The user may then pull the strip 110 in a first direction and then in a second and opposite direction to rub the lotion or other similar product across the skin.
  • When a user wishes to wipe a certain hard-to-reach area on the body, e.g., the back, the user can obtain a strip 110, then thread a first finger through the first finger slit 112 and a second finger through a second finger slit 114. The user may then pull the strip 110 in a first direction and then in a second and opposite direction to wipe the sweat from the body.
  • In the illustrated embodiment of FIG. 1, first strip 110 is attached to second strip 210 by perforated tear line 230. In the illustrated embodiment of FIG. 1, second strip 210 is attached to third strip 220 by another perforated tear line 240. In certain embodiments, lotion applicator roll 200 comprises (n) number of strips to form a roll, and each subsequent strip is attached to another strip by a perforated tear line. In the illustrated embodiment of FIG. 1, a user will tear off a first strip 110 to apply lotion or other similar products. Once the user has used the first strip 110 to apply lotion or other similar products to their skin as described above, the user will dispose of the first strip 110. When the user desires to apply lotion again, they will tear off the second strip 210 to apply lotion or other similar products. This process continues until lotion applicator roll 200 contains no more strips.
  • In certain embodiments, lotion applicator roll 200 comprises between about 20 and about 70 strips, each strip connected to another by a perforated tear line. In certain embodiments, lotion applicator roll 200 will fit within a compact container where a user may pull one lotion applicator out of the container at a time, while still keeping lotion applicator roll 200 in a tight roll.
  • Various modifications of the invention, in addition to those described herein, will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the foregoing description. Such modifications are also intended to fall within the scope of the appended claims. Each reference cited in the present application is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • Although there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art that modifications may be made thereto which do not exceed the scope of the appended claims. Therefore, the scope of the invention is only to be limited by the following claims.
