Abstract
A drinking bottle includes: a bottle body defining a chamber therein and having a top connecting portion and a bottom connecting portion that defines a bottom opening of the bottle body; a bottom cap coupled detachably to the bottom connecting portion of the bottle body for covering sealingly and uncovering the bottom opening of the bottle body; a hollow inner body disposed in the chamber of the bottle body, defining an inner space therein, and having a bottom connecting portion that defines a bottom opening of the inner body and that is coupled detachably to the bottom cap; and a sealing member coupled detachably to the bottom connecting portion of the inner body for covering sealingly and uncovering the bottom opening of the inner body.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to a drinking bottle, more particularly to a drinking bottle including a bottle body and a hollow inner body mounted in the bottle body through a bottom cap.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- U.S. Pat. No. 6,415,264 discloses a thermally-regulated drinking bottle that includes a bottle body having an outer wall portion defining a chamber therein, and an inner wall portion extending from a bottom end of the outer wall portion into the chamber and defining an inner space isolated from the chamber. A plug is fitted sealingly into a bottom open end of the inner wall portion. A coolant can be filled in the inner space in the inner wall portion so as to prolong a chilled temperature of a drinkable liquid in the chamber. Since the inner and outer wall portions are an integral single piece, they cannot be utilized independently.
- Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a drinking bottle that can overcome the aforesaid drawback associated with the prior art.
- Accordingly, a drinking bottle of the present invention comprises: a bottle body defining a chamber therein and having a top connecting portion and a bottom connecting portion that defines a bottom opening of the bottle body; a bottom cap coupled detachably to the bottom connecting portion of the bottle body for covering sealingly and uncovering the bottom opening of the bottle body; a hollow inner body disposed in the chamber of the bottle body, defining an inner space therein, and having a top closed end and a bottom connecting portion that defines a bottom opening of the inner body and that is coupled detachably to the bottom cap; and a sealing member coupled detachably to the bottom connecting portion of the inner body for covering sealingly and uncovering the bottom opening of the inner body.

FIG. 7 is schematic view of the second preferred embodiment of a drinking bottle according to the present invention. - Before the present invention is described in greater detail with reference to the accompanying preferred embodiments, it should be noted herein that like elements are denoted by the same reference numerals throughout the disclosure.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , the first preferred embodiment of a drinking bottle according to the present invention is shown to include: abottle body 2 defining achamber 20 therein and having a top connectingportion 25 and abottom connecting portion 26 that defines a bottom opening 260 of thebottle body 2; abottom cap 3 coupled detachably to thebottom connecting portion 26 of thebottle body 2 for covering sealingly and uncovering the bottom opening 260 of thebottle body 2; a hollowinner body 4 disposed in thechamber 20 of thebottle body 2, defining aninner space 42 therein, and having a top closedend 414 and abottom connecting portion 413 that defines a bottom opening 410 (seeFIG. 2 ) of theinner body 4 and that is coupled detachably to thebottom cap 3; and a sealingmember 412 coupled detachably to thebottom connecting portion 413 of theinner body 4 for covering sealingly and uncovering thebottom opening 410 of theinner body 4. - In this embodiment, the
bottom cap 3 has acircular base wall 31 and a surroundingwall 32 extending axially from a peripheral edge of thebase wall 31 and engaging threadedly thebottom connecting portion 26 of thebottle body 2. Thebottom cap 3 is formed with anannular wall 34 extending axially from a center of thebase wall 31 into thechamber 20 of thebottle body 2 and engaging threadedly thebottom connecting portion 413 of theinner body 4. A sealing O-ring 36 is disposed between and is in sealing contact with the surroundingwall 32 and thebottom connecting portion 26 of thebottle body 2. The sealingmember 412 includes aplug 412′ that is fitted sealingly into thebottom connecting portion 413 of theinner body 4. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , in combination withFIG. 2 , the drinking bottle further includes atop cap 5 coupled detachably to the top connectingportion 25 of thebottle body 2. The top connectingportion 25 of thebottle body 2 has alower end 251. Thebottle body 2 further has anupper portion 24 enlarged in cross-section from thelower end 251 of thetop connecting portion 25, and amiddle portion 23 extending from theupper portion 24 and cooperating with theupper portion 24 to define ashoulder 230 therebetween. The top cap has a dome-shaped wall 53 formed with a central through-hole 523 (seeFIG. 4 ) and having aninner surface 530 and alower end 531, an annular connectingwall 51 having alower end 511, extending from theinner surface 530 of the dome-shaped wall 53, and threadedly engageable with the top connectingportion 25 of thebottle body 2, and an annularcentral wall 52 extending axially from a periphery of the central through-hole 523 in a direction opposite to the annular connectingwall 51. The dome-shaped wall 53 encloses the top connectingportion 25 and theupper portion 24 of thebottle body 2, and thelower end 531 of the dome-shaped wall 53 abuts against the shoulder 230 (seeFIG. 2 ) when the annular connectingwall 51 of thetop cap 5 engages threadedly the top connectingportion 25 of thebottle body 2 and when thelower end 511 of the annular connectingwall 51 is disposed closest to thelower end 251 of the top connectingportion 25. - The drinking bottle further includes a valve-supporting member 50 (see
FIG. 3 ) connected to theinner surface 530 of the dome-shaped wall 53 and having anannular plate 502 disposed coaxially with the annularcentral wall 52 within the annular connectingwall 51, and avalve 7 including aninner tube 70 extending axially from theannular plate 502 of the valve-supportingmember 50 into and through the annularcentral wall 52 of thetop cap 5, and anouter tube 71 fitted into and in sliding contact with the annularcentral wall 52 of thetop cap 5, sleeved around theinner tube 70 to define afluid channel 74 therebetween, and having alower end 711. The valve-supportingmember 50 further has a pair of supportingarms 501 extending from theinner surface 530 of the dome-shaped wall 53 and connected to theannular plate 502. Theouter tube 71 is movable relative to theinner tube 70 between a closed position (seeFIG. 5 ), in which thelower end 711 of theouter tube 71 abuts sealingly against theannular plate 502 of the valve-supportingmember 50 so as to prevent fluid communication between thefluid channel 74 and thechamber 20 of thebottle body 2, and an opened position (seeFIG. 6 ), in which thelower end 711 of theouter tube 71 is spaced apart from theannular plate 502 of the valve-supportingmember 50 so as to permit fluid communication between thefluid channel 74 and thechamber 20 of thebottle body 2. Thelower end 711 of theouter tube 71 is formed with two opposite stoppingprotrusions 73 protruding therefrom. The stoppingprotrusions 73 abut against the periphery of the central through-hole 523 (seeFIG. 6 ) when theouter tube 71 is disposed at the opened position, thereby preventing undesired removal of theouter tube 71 from theinner tube 70. -
FIG. 7 illustrates the second preferred embodiment of the drinking bottle according to the present invention. The second preferred embodiment differs from the previous embodiment in that the dome-shaped wall 53 of thetop cap 5 cooperates with themiddle portion 23 of thebottle body 2 to form a soccer-ball-like pattern. Preferably, thebottle body 2 is made from a transparent material so as to exhibit an aesthetic effect. - With the inclusion of the
bottom cap 3 and theinner body 4 in the drinking bottle of this invention, the aforesaid drawback can be eliminated. - While the present invention has been described in connection with what are considered the most practical and preferred embodiments, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
Claims (7)
1. A drinking bottle comprising:
a bottle body defining a chamber therein and having a top connecting portion and a bottom connecting portion that defines a bottom opening of said bottle body;
a bottom cap coupled detachably to said bottom connecting portion of said bottle body for covering sealingly and uncovering said bottom opening of said bottle body;
a hollow inner body disposed in said chamber of said bottle body, defining an inner space therein, and having a top closed end and a bottom connecting portion that defines a bottom opening of said inner body and that is coupled detachably to said bottom cap; and
a sealing member coupled detachably to said bottom connecting portion of said inner body for covering sealingly and uncovering said bottom opening of said inner body.
2. The drinking bottle as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said bottom cap engages threadedly said bottom connecting portion of said bottle body.
3. The drinking bottle as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said bottom cap is formed with an annular wall extending into said chamber of said bottle body and engaging threadedly said bottom connecting portion of said inner body.
4. The drinking bottle as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said sealing member includes a plug that is fitted sealingly into said bottom connecting portion of said inner body.
5. The drinking bottle as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a top cap coupled detachably to said top connecting portion of said bottle body.

The drinking bottle as claimed in claim 5 , wherein said top connecting portion of said bottle body has a lower end, said bottle body further having an upper portion enlarged in cross-section from said lower end of said top connecting portion, and a middle portion extending from said upper portion and cooperating with said upper portion to define a shoulder therebetween, said top cap including a dome-shaped wall having an inner surface and a lower end, and an annular connecting wall having a lower end, extending from said inner surface of said dome-shaped wall, and threadedly engageable with said top connecting portion of said bottle body, said dome-shaped wall enclosing said top connecting portion and said upper portion of said bottle body and said lower end of said dome-shaped wall abutting against said shoulder when said annular connecting wall of said top cap engages threadedly said top connecting portion of said bottle body and when said lower end of said annular connecting wall is disposed closest to said lower end of said top connecting portion.

The drinking bottle as claimed in claim 6 , wherein said dome-shaped wall is formed with a central through-hole, said top cap further including an annular central wall extending from a periphery of said central through-hole in a direction opposite to said annular connecting wall, said drinking bottle further comprising a valve-supporting member connected to said inner surface of said dome-shaped wall and having an annular plate disposed coaxially with said annular central wall within said annular connecting wall, and a valve including an inner tube extending axially from said annular plate of said valve-supporting member into and through said annular central wall of said top cap, and an outer tube fitted into and in sliding contact with said annular central wall of said top cap, sleeved around said inner tube to define a fluid channel therebetween, and having a lower end, said outer tube being movable relative to said inner tube between a closed position, in which said lower end of said outer tube abuts sealingly against said annular plate of said valve-supporting member so as to prevent fluid communication between said fluid channel and said chamber of said bottle body, and an opened position, in which said lower end of said outer tube is spaced apart from said annular plate of said valve-supporting member so as to permit fluid communication between said fluid channel and said chamber of said bottle body.
