Abstract

The present invention refers to a bracket used to fix doors to cabinet pull-out baskets, which consists in a rectangular plate provided with three pairs of overlapped holes and slots, of which the central pair is used to fix the plate to the basket and the two lateral pairs can be selectively used to insert the screws used to fix the door to the plate.

Description

  • The present patent application for industrial invention refers to a universal bracket used to fix doors to cabinet pull-out baskets.
  • The term “pull-out” baskets refers to large baskets made of electro-soldered metal wire used in some of type of cabinets, with special reference to modular kitchen furniture, such as base units or drawer cabinets.
  • Although they differ from model to model in terms of configuration and internal division, these baskets are always supported by a lateral pair of bearing side members, which are joined to corresponding guides, usually of telescopic type, whose frame is fixed to the bottom wall of the cabinet or inside the two sides, while the sliding rods of the guides are joined to the side members.
  • The door of cabinets equipped with pull-out baskets can be of revolving type, supported by hinges with vertical rotation axis, screwed onto one side of the cabinet. However, whenever it is possible, doors translate together with the pull-out element to provide easy access from both sides.
  • In the latter case, an L-shaped square element is applied to the front end of the lateral pair of bearing side members, whose base wing rests and is permanently fixed above the side members, while the vertical wing is used as anchoring member for the door, which is screwed from inside against the external face of the bearing wing provided with holes for the screws used to fix the door.
  • This fixing technique is not fully satisfactory, since pull-out elements have different sizes according to models and manufacturers, with special reference to the distance between the two square elements used to fix the door, which of course affects the position of the points where the door is screwed to the pull-out element.
  • On the other hand, doors may be different in terms of models or materials, such as chipboard with laminate coating, with or without frame, solid wood, glass with wooden or metal frame.
  • These variable factors obviously affect the position of the points where the door is fixed to the pull-out element, it being strictly conditioned by the distance between the two square elements.
  • The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks caused by the said restriction, by devising a bracket that can be used to fix the door to the pull-out element regardless of the distance between the door fixing points and the door fixing brackets.
  • More precisely, the bracket permits to select fixing points with higher or lower distance than the distance comprised between the two square elements.
  • The bracket of the invention consists in a rectangular plate provided with a central pair of overlapped holes and two lateral pairs of overlapped slots.
  • The plate is fixed in external position on the bearing wing of each square element by means of two screws with relevant tightening nuts, inserted from outside inwards through the holes of the bearing wing and through the central pair of holes on the plate.
  • The width of the plate is such that the lateral pairs of overlapped slots are placed in external position on the two opposite sides of the bearing wings, once the plate has been fixed to the square element, in such a way that the right or left-hand side slots may be selected from time to time to insert the screws used to fix the door to the plate.
  • For purposes of clarity, the description of the bracket of the invention continues with reference to the enclosed drawings, which are intended for purposes of illustration only and not in a limiting sense, whereby:
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded axonometric view that shows the point and position in which the bracket is fixed to the pull-out basket;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded axonometric view of the bracket fixed to the pull-out element and door to be fixed to the bracket by means of screws inserted through the lateral pair of overlapped slots in external position on the bearing wing of the square element used for door fixing;
  • FIG. 3 is an exploded axonometric view of the bracket fixed to the pull-out element and the door to be fixed to the bracket by means of screws inserted through the lateral pair of overlapped slots in internal position on the bearing wing of the square element used for door fixing;
  • With reference to the aforementioned figures, the bracket (1) of the invention is used to fix a door (S) to a pull-out basket (E) for cabinets, of the type comprising a grid (G) supported by a lateral pair of bearing side elements (P) designed to be coupled with sliding and supporting guides.
  • An L-shaped square element (S) is applied to the front end of the lateral pair of bearing side members (P), whose base wing (B) rests and is permanently fixed on the side members (P), while the bearing wing (M) is provided with holes (F) for the screws (V) used to fix the bracket (1) to the bearing wing.
  • The bracket (1) is formed of a rectangular metal plate provided with a central pair of overlapped holes (2) and two lateral pairs of overlapped slots (3 a and 3 b), with horizontal and vertical direction, respectively.
  • As shown in FIG. 1, the plate is fixed in external position on the bearing wing (M) of each square element (S) by means of two screws (V) with tightening nuts (D), inserted from outside inwards through the holes (F) and through the central pair of holes (2) of the bracket (1).
  • The door (S) is fixed to the bracket (1) by means of one or more screws (4) inserted from inside outwards through the slots (3 b), as shown in FIG. 2, or through the slots (3 a), as shown in FIG. 3.
  • Having both a vertical and horizontal direction, the slots (3 a and 3 b) facilitate the adjustment of the fixing position of the door (S) that must be centred with respect to the two sides of the cabinet and perfectly levelled.
  • Finally, it must be noted that in the preferred embodiment of the invention the bracket (1) has a lowered vertical wing (5) joined to the body (1 a) of the plate by means of a step (6) with sufficient height to generate a space that can house the heads of the screws (V), which would otherwise prevent the perfect adherence of the door (S) to the bracket (1).
  • In other words, the door (S) always adheres perfectly on the entire external side of the lowered wing (5), regardless of the fact that the fixing screws (4) are inserted through the slots (3 a) or the slots (3 b).
