Description

    BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
  • 1. Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to a clothes-hanging device.
  • 2. Related Prior Art
  • Disclosed in Taiwanese Patent Publication No. 589982 is a clothes rack 10 that includes a base 14, four telescopic posts 13 installed on the base 14, a front upper beam 11 installed on two of the telescopic posts 13, a rear upper beam 12 installed on the remaining two of the telescopic posts 13, two connectors 20 each for interconnecting two of the telescopic posts 13, a front lower beam 15 installed on the connectors 20 and a rear lower beam 16 installed on the connectors 20. The connectors 20 each include two sockets 212 directed toward the sockets 212 of the other connector 20. The sockets 212 receive the ends of the lower beams 15 and 16. Clothes can be hung on hangers, and the hangers can be hung on the beams 11, 12, 15 and 16. However, several problems have been encountered during the use of this conventional clothes rack. Firstly, clothes hung on the lower beams 15 and 16 might fall onto the floor and get dirty as the ends of the lower beams 15 and 16 might accidentally be detached from the sockets 212 since the former are only fit in the latter. Secondly, once the ends of the lower beams 15 and 16 are detached from the sockets 212, clothes might be contaminated and damaged by means of the sockets 212 since the latter extend for a long distance. Thirdly, long clothes such as dresses, overcoats and trousers cannot be hung on the lower beams 15 and 16. Long clothes cannot be hung on the upper beams 11 and 12 without detaching the lower beams 15 and 16 from the connectors 20. It is troublesome to detach the lower beams 15 and 16 from the connectors 20 since the upper beams 11 and 12 must previously be detached from the telescopic posts 13, i.e., the clothes rack 10 must be dismantled almost completely.
  • The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.
  • SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • According to the present invention, a clothes-hanging device includes a rack and a supplementary beam assembly. The rack includes a base, two posts installed on the base and a major beam installed on the posts. The supplementary beam assembly includes two brackets installed on the posts, a supplementary beam and two anchors connected to the supplementary beam and detachably installed on the brackets.
  • An advantage of the clothes-hanging device according to the present invention is that it can easily be modified to hang long clothes since the supplementary beam can easily be detached from the brackets.
  • An advantage of the clothes-hanging device according to the present invention is that the supplementary beam can firmly support clothes since the supplementary beam is firmly installed on the brackets.
  • Still an advantage of the clothes-hanging device according to the present invention is that the possibility that the brackets contaminate clothes is low because they are small.
  • Other advantages and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following description referring to the drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
  • The present invention will be described through detailed illustration of two embodiments referring to the drawings.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of clothes-hanging device according to the first embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the clothes-handing device shown in FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 3 is an enlarged partial view of the clothes-hanging device shown in FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the clothes-hanging device shown in FIG. 3.
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a plurality of hangers hung on the clothes-hanging device shown in FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 6 is an enlarged partial view of a clothes-hanging device according to the second embodiment.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a clothes-hanging device according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The clothes-hanging device includes a rack 10 and a supplementary beam assembly 20 installed on the rack 10.
  • The rack 10 includes a base 11, four casters 111 installed beneath the base 11, two telescopic posts installed on the base 11 and a beam 14 installed on the telescopic posts. Each of the telescopic posts consists of a lower tube 12 and an upper tube 13. The lower tubes 12 are installed on the base 11. The beam 14 is installed on the upper tubes 13 so that two ends 141 of the beam 14 extend beyond the upper tubes 13 for supporting as many hangers (FIG. 5) as possible.
  • Referring to FIGS. 2 through 4, the supplementary beam assembly 20 includes two brackets 21, two anchors 22 and a supplementary beam 23. The brackets 21 are installed on the lower tubes 13. The anchors 22 are connected to the supplementary beam 23. The anchors 22 are detachably installed on the brackets 21.
  • Each of the brackets 21 includes a sleeve 219 and a pocket 214 formed on the sleeve 219. The sleeve 219 defines a large aperture 211 and a small aperture 212 that is in communication with the large aperture 211. Thus, the shoulder 213 is formed between the large aperture 211 and the small aperture 212. The large aperture 211 receives related one of the lower tubes 12 so that the shoulder 213 rests on the upper end of the related lower tube 12.
  • The pocket 214 includes a space 215 defined therein and a U-shaped shackle formed thereon for partially shielding the space 215. The U-shaped shackle includes a first member 216, a second member 217 and a third member 218 formed between the first member 216 and the second member 217.
  • Each of the anchors 22 includes a circular head 221 at an end, a neck 222 near the circular head 221 and an insert 223 at an opposite end. The diameter of the circular head 221 is larger than that of the neck 222. The inserts 223 of the anchors 22 are fit in two ends 231 of the supplementary beam 23. To this end, each of the inserts 223 is formed with a plurality of ribs 226. As the circular heads 221 of the anchors 22 are positioned in the pockets 214 of the brackets 21, the necks 222 of the anchors 22 are positioned in the shackles of the brackets 21. The supplementary beam 23 can rotate.
  • Referring to FIG. 5, to hang a lot of clothes, a plurality of hangers is hung on the beam 14, and another plurality of hangers is hung on the supplementary beam 23. To hang long clothes, the supplementary beam 23 can easily be detached from the brackets 21.
  • Since there is no need to pull the inserts 223 of the anchors 22 from the ends 231 of the supplementary beam 23, the former are fit in the latter very tightly. To this end, the length of the inserts 223 is large, the number of the ribs 226 of the inserts 223 is large, and the diameter of the ribs 226 of the inserts 223 matches the internal diameter of the ends 231 of the supplementary beam 23.
  • The clothes-hanging device of the present invention exhibits several advantages. Firstly, it can easily be modified to hang long clothes because the supplementary beam 23 can easily be detached from the brackets 21. Secondly, the supplementary beam 23 can firmly support clothes since the supplementary beam 23 is firmly installed on the brackets 21 as the necks 222 of the anchors 22 are restrained in the shackles of the brackets 21. Thirdly, the possibility that the brackets 21 contaminate clothes is low as they are small.
  • Referring to FIG. 6, shown is a clothes-hanging device according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is identical to the first embodiment except that each of the anchors 22 includes a square head 224 instead of the circular head 221. As the square heads 224 of the anchors 22 are positioned in the pockets 214 of the brackets 21, the supplementary beam 23 cannot rotate.
  • The present invention has been described through the illustration of the embodiments. Those skilled in the art can derive variations from the embodiments without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the embodiments shall not limit the scope of the present invention defined in the claims.
