Abstract

The present invention relates to a length-adjustable box having a front and a rear plates connecting with adjustable elements and a non-rigid foldable bottom to form a volume-adjustable box, wherein the non-rigid bottom bearing no weight and transferring the whole weight of stores directly to the desk surface, thereby maximizing the box's weight-carrying capacity.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (a) Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a length-adjustable box and more particularly for a box having a front and a rear plates connecting with a non-rigid foldable bottom for length adjustment. The box can be placed on a desk surface for supporting heavy stores and also decorated with optical fiber ornaments to enhance visual beauty and serve as an illumination in the dark.
  • (b) Description of the Prior Art
  • A conventional household box is of a fixed volume for storing magazines, toys, etc which can be a waste when not having enough stores or can be a troublesome issue when having stores exceeding the capacity thereof. With the fixed bottom area of the conventional box, a large enough desk shall be selected for accommodating the box thereon. Besides, the conventional box bottom is usually made of a hard plate with a clearance away from the ground, which may cause deformation due to the heavy weight of stores.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a length-adjustable box having a front and a rear plates connecting with adjustable elements and a non-rigid foldable bottom to form a volume-adjustable box, wherein the non-rigid bottom bearing no weight and transferring the whole weight of stores directly to the desk surface, thereby maximizing the box's weight-carrying capacity.
  • To enhance visual beauty, optical fiber ornaments may be formed on an end of the box, which may also be serving as an illumination in the dark.
  • To enable a further understanding of the said objectives and the technological methods of the invention herein, the brief description of the drawings below is followed by the detailed description of the preferred embodiments.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1 shows an exploded elevational view of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 shows a side view of an adjustable element of the present invention.
  • FIG. 3 shows a side view of another adjustable element of the present invention.
  • FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of the length-adjustable box with optical fiber ornaments.
  • FIG. 5 shows a schematic view of luminous elements of the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 shows a schematic view of how a hair style being formed by layers of optical fiber ribbons of the present invention.
  • FIG. 7 shows a schematic view of how a hair style being formed by an optical fiber belt with a tailored edge of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIG. 1. The present invention is related to a length-adjustable box 1 having a box 10, a front plate 11 and a rear plate 12, adjustable elements 2, lateral foldable walls 14, 15 and a non-rigid foldable bottom 13, wherein lateral foldable walls 14, 15 being cloth or other foldable material formed on lateral sides thereof and being able to enclose adjustable elements 2 and the front and rear plates 11, 12 connecting with adjustable elements 2, lateral foldable walls 14, 15 and the non-rigid foldable bottom 13.
  • With the foldable characteristic and the non-rigid foldable bottom 13, the box 1 can be fitted on the desk surface according to the size thereof and the weight of stores can be directly transferred to the desk surface 3, thereby enabling the length-adjustable box 1 maximizing weight supporting capability.
  • Referring to FIG. 2. Each adjustable element 2 includes tubes of different diameters connecting together to form an adjustable tube 21, which acts simultaneously with lateral foldable walls 14, 15 and the non-rigid foldable bottom 13 when shortening or expanding the front plate 12, preferably with a handle 5 thereof.
  • Referring to FIG. 3. Each adjustable element 2 can also be in the form of lazy tongs 22 including beams 221, 222 cross-hinged at joint 224, end-hinged at joint 223, and connected with front and rear plates 11, 12 through joints 225, 226, thereby enabling lateral foldable walls 14, 15 and the non-rigid foldable bottom 13 acting simultaneously with the lazy tongs 22 expanding or contracting actions. To enhance beauty of the box 10, lateral foldable walls 14, 15 may enclose lazy tongs 22.
  • Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3. The non-rigid foldable bottom 13 is to transfer the whole weight directly to the desk surface 3. With the adjustable structure, the bottom area of the box 10 can be adjusted to fit for the desk surface 3 and also for the quantity or size of stores.
  • Referring to FIG. 4. To enhance visual beauty, optical fiber ornaments 60 may be formed at an end of the box 10 including a doll 4 as a main body. Optical fiber ornaments 60 are using optical fibers 6 as the basic element to form an optical belt 600 or an optical fiber ribbon 602 for different applications such as using the optical belt 600 or optical fiber ribbons 602 to simulate a hair style 601 on the forehead, utilizing optical fiber ribbons 602 to simulate a hair style 41 on the lateral, covering the optical fiber belt on the collar, and winding the optical fiber ribbon 602 around each cuff.
  • Referring to FIG. 5. The luminous ornament is formed by a light beam generating from the light source 7 passing through a diode 61, optical fibers 6, and to emitting ends 62 where flares 63 generate; wherein the light source 7 including an illuminator 71, an electrical controlling circuit 72, and an operation terminal 73 and supplying optical fibers 6 with light of various wave lengths through operating the operation terminal 73. The electrical controlling circuit 72 can also be designed to control a sound device 74 to enable songs or music playing simultaneously with flares 63 acting to increase amusement effect. Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5. The diode 61 can be in any feasible, hidden way to connect with the light source 7, which being in any feasible way hidden in the doll 4 or any possible place.
  • Referring to FIG. 6. Layers of optical fiber ribbons 602 may create an effect of a thick hair style 41.
  • Referring to FIG. 7. The hair style 41 can also be formed by an optical fiber belt 600, being formed by assembling optical fibers 6, with a tailored edge 601, wherein the other end of each optical fibers 6 being bound together to connect to the diode 61, which further connecting to the light source 7.
  • Besides the doll 4, optical fiber ornaments 60 can be other forms such as a tree or a house etc.
  • It is of course to be understood that the embodiment described herein is merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and that a wide variety of modifications thereto may be effected by persons skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
