Abstract

An outer garment for children which is reversible and features animal characters on the hood and other parts of the jacket on both sides is disclosed. The present invention provides an economical alternative to children's outer wear by constructing a jacket that is reversible and features two different animal character ornamentations thus serving as two jackets. Ornamentation, while flat gives the appearance of three dimensions when worn. The inventive reversible jacket is fun and interesting for children to wear by increasing the level of curiosity and popularity of the garment, thus reducing the time it takes to dress a child by making the jacket more appealing. Also, the present invention discloses an outerwear construction that arouses interest in young children and thus makes the garment not easily misplaced.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an improvement made to children's clothing, more particularly to an article of outer clothing for children that is reversible and features two different animal character faces on the hooded surface of said garment.

More particularly the improvements made are to add an educational and fun elements to the garment by having animal character faces displayed on the garment's hood and designing the jacket so that it is reversible which makes it more attractive to children and therefore more readily rememberable.

Toddlers and young children are vulnerable to outdoor weather conditions because of their small size and inability to recognize the weather conditions that are dangerous to their health and overall well being. Parents often struggle with making their children wear the outer garments properly and for the duration of the children's presence in the outdoors.

Typically, children of young age and especially toddlers do not enjoy the process of putting on the outerwear right before they leave for the outdoors. This process is dreaded by children and parents alike. The time and the effort spent making sure the child is wearing a jacket often times creates tension between parents, or those designated care takers, and children.

Further, children have a constant need to be occupied. Soon parents learn that it is in their best interests as well to make sure their children are continuously engaged in an activity as restless kids very quickly become crying kids.

One of the limitations of the present state of children's apparel is that it is simply a piece of clothing to be worn outdoors, which often involves a lengthy and rather exhausting procedure of putting that garment on. In other words, it is very boring and does not present any opportunity for fun or games.

Also, outerwear garments are usually limited in their use. They are just a jacket, a coat or a throw. Quickly such articles of clothing become a nuisance to an ever inquiring child who wants to be moving about. They turn into something that only has value for the adult who bought it, whether monetary or health-related. Thus, it becomes the parents', or the care-taker's, task to keep track of the garment, of making sure the child is wearing it and wearing it properly.

In addition, it is very hard to convince a toddler or a young kid that it is important to wear an outer garment when the temperatures become dangerously cold and hazardous to their health. This is especially true because young kids cannot often recognize the signs of extreme temperature conditions.

The incredible exuberance and a desire to move about in toddlers and young children creates a need for interesting and fun clothing items. For example, U.S. Pat. No. Des. 332,173 discloses slippers that house a head of a bunny on top of the tip of the toe of the slipper. Each slipper has its own bunny head. Further, U.S. Pat. No. 4,488,315 teaches a combination scarf and puppet. At both ends of the scarf there are what appear to be mouse heads that have openings for insertion of hands to enable the wearer/user to use them as puppets according to the disclosed method. Also, U.S. Pat. No. 6,142,785 discloses an educational set of gloves. The inventive gloves are equipped with numbers one through ten numbering each digit of the glove. Additionally, there are letters R and L representing “right” and “left” and other geometric shapes.

Further, U.S. Pat. No. 5,127,107 teaches a reversible costume structure with two different costume designs. The patent discloses a loose fitting garment for use as a costume that has a detachable hood and mask for one character and a hat for the other. The detachable parts are stored in a hidden pocket built into the reversible cape. Our invention, on the other hand, is a reversible children's jacket which may be worn as an every-day garment and not strictly as a costume.

Also, U.S. Pat. No. 6,182,296 B1 teaches a “reversible denim jacket and pants”. The patent discloses reversible fashionable jean jacket which is appealing to persons starting with young adults age group.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,791,693 discloses a “reversible doll/hat”. The patent describes a doll that may be converted into a wearable hat by opening a zipper-locked compartment and inverting the doll into the compartment.

Further still, there are products such as the “lambie hooded jacket” manufactured by Corky and Co. which is described as decorated with two little lamb ears on the hood”.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The object of the present invention it to provide an outer garment for children which is reversible and features animal characters on the hood and other parts of the jacket on both sides.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an economical alternative to children's outer wear by constructing a jacket that is reversible and features two different animal character ornamentation, thus serving as two jackets.

Another object of the present invention is to provide outer wear for children that is educational by having two different animal ornamentations, one on each side of the reversible jacket thus providing plenty of opportunity for exploration of different animal characteristics.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a reversible jacket that is fun and interesting for children to wear by increasing the level of curiosity and popularity of the garment thus reducing the time it takes to dress a child by making the jacket more appealing.

Yet another object of the present invention is to disclose an outer wear construction that arouses interest in young children and thus makes the garment not easily misplaced as it will become a favorite item both as clothing and a “toy”.

Still another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children, comprising a garment main body having an obverse and a reverse, a hood secured to said garment main body, the hood having an obverse and a reverse, the hood comprising a rear portion having a base, a top portion, a front portion extending from the top portion in a forward and downward direction from the front portion, a tangent to the center of the front portion defining a display plane extending with respect to the top portion in a forward and downward direction with respect to the front portion, and a pair of side portions.

Also, first facial components representing the facial features of a first character, said first facial components being positioned on and secured to the obverse of the front portion, and generally defining a plane which generally coincides with the display plane, when the hood is being worn by a child with the obverse exposed to view, and first ear components representing the ears of the first character, the first ear components being positioned on and secured to the obverse of the side portions of the hood.

In addition, second facial components representing the facial features of a second character, the second facial components being positioned on and secured to the reverse of the front portion, being configured to be relatively flat and generally defining a plane which generally coincides with the display plane, when the hood is being worn by a child with the reverse exposed to view, and second ear components representing the ears of the second character, the second ear components being positioned on and secured to the reverse of the side portions of the hood.

Another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein first and second facial components being configured to be relatively flat.

Further still, another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein the first and second ear components being positioned on and secured to at positions behind the display plane, when the hood is being worn by a child with the reverse exposed to view.

Another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein the garment main body having a body covering portion and a pair of arms.

Yet another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein the hood is secured at base of the rear portion to the garment main body.

Still another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein the ears are relatively flat and are secured vertically to the hood behind the top portion, and the ears fold and lay flat against a wearer's head when the garment is in its reversed position, and the ears pop out from a folded flat to a vertical position.

Still another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein first and second ear components, being positioned on and secured to the reverse of the side portions of the hood at positions behind the display plane and below the first and second facial components, when the hood is being worn by a child with the reverse exposed to view.

Another object of the present invention is to disclose a reversible garment for children wherein the first and second ear components, are mounted in a manner which makes them extend away from the hood side portions.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an outerwear reversible garment for children. The [0036] jacket 10 illustrated in FIGS. 1-6 is a children's garment, namely lion and bull dog jacket. FIG. 1 illustrates jacket 10 as a lion jacket 10 comprising right sleeve 12R and left sleeve 12L, front lion body portion 14, and hood 16. Each sleeve 12 is comprised of right cuff 18R and left cuff 18L, and right sleeve body 20R and left sleeve body 20L.
[0037] Front lion portion 14 is comprised of right main panel 22R and left main panel 22L, and right tummy panel 24R and left tummy panel 24L. Right tummy panel 24R and left tummy panel 24L together form an egg shape at the center of front lion portion 14 and in the center of main panels 22. Tummy panels 24 are white color. Sleeves 12 and front lion portion 14, including main panels 22, are beige color.
[0038] Zipper 28 starts at the bottom of lion jacket 10, at the bottom-most part of hem 26, and goes up, through the middle of front lion portion 14, between right main panel 22R and left main panel 22L, between right tummy panel 24R and left tummy panel 22L, and through the right main panel 22R and left main panel 22L once again, where it terminates at the point where front lion portion 14 meets hood 16. Zipper 28 is attached to front lion portion 14 by stitching which starts at the bottom of front lion portion 14 and goes up through main panels 22 and tummy panels 24. At each side of zipper 28, said parts of lion jacket 10 are folded inside and stitched through forming right zipper flap 29R and left zipper flap 29L accordingly. Right zipper flap 29R and left zipper flap 29L are each approximately 1 cm wide. The two flaps enclose zipper 28. After zipper 28 terminates and hood 16 biggins, a similar fold-in of plush fabric continues with stitching but without zipper 28 in the middle. See FIG. 5, infra, for a detailed view of folds in plush fabric that form above mentioned flaps, 29R and 29L.
At the bottom of [0039] lion jacket 10 bordering front lion portion 14 lies hem 26. Hem 26 encircles lion jacket 10 at the bottom. Hem 26 encircles the bottom of lion jacket 10 and is interrupted by zipper 28 in front at the center of lion jacket 10.
[0040] Elastic band 30 is enclosed in hem 26. Elastic band 30 is shorter in length than hem 26. Elastic band 30 is attached to hem 26 at the point of attachment of zipper 28, at the bottom center of lion jacket 10. Additionally, elastic band 30 is attachedly secured in position with stitching at point 32R, located at approximately 4 cm to 5 cm to the right from where elastic band 30 attaches to zipper 28, and at point 32L, located at approximately 4 cm to 5 cm to the left from where elastic band 30 attaches to zipper 28. Thus, elastic band 30 is shorter in length than hem 26, thus forcing the material which makes up hem 26 to scrunch a little. Thus, such scrunching of hem 26 makes a tighter fit against a wearer's torso restricting air flow into and up lion jacket 10. This preserves body warmth. To allow adjustable cooling. The front zipper may be partially or completely unzipped.
[0041] Right cuff 18R has right elastic band 34R enclosed therein. Left cuff 18L has left elastic band 34L enclosed therein. Right elastic band 34R is slightly shorter in length than right cuff 18R, thus forcing the material which makes up right cuff 18R to scrunch just a little. Thus, such scrunching of right cuff 18R makes a tighter fit against a wearer's wrist restricting air flow into and up right sleeve body 20R and through sleeve 12. Left elastic band 34L is slightly shorter in length than left cuff 18L, thus forcing the material which makes up left cuff 18L to scrunch a little. Thus, such scrunching of left cuff 18L makes a tighter fit against a wearer's wrist restricting air flow into and up left sleeve body 20L and through sleeve 12. Cuffs 18 are dark beige in color.
[0042] Hood 16 is attached to lion jacket 10 encircling the portion where the wearer's neck meets the shoulders. At this attachment point lion neck portion 35 is made of beige colored fabric just like sleeves 12 and main panels 22. At a distance of approximately 8 to 8.5 cm from where lion neck portion 35 is attached to the rest of lion jacket 10, beige color fabric terminates. The rest of hood 16 is completed by a light brown colored fabric which overlaps onto the beige color fabric of lion neck portion 35. Light brown color fabric is stitched to beige color fabric of lion neck portion 35 in a pattern tracing the shape of light brown fabric at overlap zone and extends in a realistic fashion around the back of hood 16. Light brown color fabric is an inverted wave-like shape and resembles stylized hair locks of a lion's mane, as is discussed in more detail below in relation to FIGS. 2 and 3.
Light brown fabric makes up three portions of [0043] hood 16. Lion face portion 36, right lion hood portion 38 and left lion hood portion 40 are light brown in color.
[0044] Lion ears 42 are beige in color as are sleeves 12, main panels 22, and lion neck portion 35. Lion ears 42 are circular in shape at their tips and are flat at the point of attachment to hood 16. The general shape of lion ears 42 resembles a two-dimensional shape of a soap bubble which has landed on a flat surface.
[0045] Lion ears 42 are flat but are mounted in a manner which makes them extend away from hood portion 40, as illustrated in FIG. 3. Thus, when inventive jacket 10 is reversed so as to expose bull dog jacket, discussed infra, lion ears 42 are located inside bull dog jacket hood. In this position, lion ears 42, fold and lay flat against the head of the wearer. Thus, the flat construction of lion ears 42 allows for concealment of lion ears 42 from view when the inventive jacket exposes the other side, that is the bull dog side of jacket 10. Flat construction of lion ears 42, when folded flat against the wearer's head, does not create any visible markings or bumps to suggest that some portion is tucked away. Consequently, reversing inventive jacket 10 to be a lion jacket 10 makes lion ears 42 pop out from their folded flat position.
[0046] Pseudo flap 31 is on the hood and is made by folding plush material inside, just like when forming flaps 29R and 29L, only now the two flaps, one from lion jacket 10 and the other from bull dog jacket, infra, are stitched together at the tips.
[0047] Lion face portion 36 is shaped like a two-dimensional dome. Components of animal character features are at the center of lion face portion 36. Components of animal character facial features are arranged flat generally in one plane, while lion ears 42 are in a different plane. When worn, the plane where components of facial features are positioned is tilted in a down and forward direction from the top of hood 16 and below the plane where lion ears 42 are positioned. Thus, such positioning of facial components in a different plane from lion ears 42 plane and which is tilted creates an image of three-dimensionality.
[0048] Eye background 44 is beige color much like lion ears 42, lion neck portion 35, sleeves 12, and main panels 22. Of course all colors are arbitrary. Eye background 44 is attached to lion face portion 36 with beige color run stitching so that the stitching blends in with eye background 44 fabric.
[0049] Lion eyes 46 are manufactured from a black colored plush fabric. Black plush fabric of lion eyes 46 is attached to eye background 44 by black thread satin stitching. Thus, the stitching encircles the whole lion eye 46. A few very small white thread run stitches create lion pupil 48 in the center of lion eye 46.
[0050] Lion nose 50 is manufactured of black color plush fabric like lion eyes 46. Lion nose 50 is attached to lion face portion 36 with black thread satin stitching. The stitching traces the outline of the triangular shape of lion nose 50.
[0051] Lion sniffler 51 is manufactured of light brown color plush fabric like lion face portion 36, right lion hood portion 38, and left lion hood portion 40. Lion sniffler 51 is shaped like a two-dimensional dome and is positioned on top of lion eye background 44 just above lion nose 50.
[0052] Lion snout 52 is made of two pieces, right lion snout 52R and left lion snout 52L, which together form the shape of a number eight positioned horizontally. Lion snout 52 is made of white plush material much like lion tummy panels 24R and 24L. Right lion snout 52R and left lion snout 52L are attached to lion face portion 36 with white thread run stitches. Through the center of lion snout 52 runs a black thread satin stitching outlining the center line of the lion character face.
Black thread satin stitching forms four [0053] dots 54 on the surface of right lion snout 53R and equally on left lion snout 52L. Black dots 54 resemble stylized whiskers.
[0054] Lion mouth 56 is made of medium brown color plush fabric. Lion mouth 56 is triangular in shape with a curved base resembling a lip. Lion mouth 56 is attached to lion face portion 36 by medium brown thread run stitching along the two sides. The curved base of lion mouth 56 is attached to lion face portion 36 with white satin stitching. White satin stitching runs from right lion snout 54R to left lion snout 54L forming a continuous white color strip.
Thus, [0055] lion nose 50, which is shaped as an inverted triangle, fits right into the upper side of lion snout 52 and lion mouth 56, which is shaped as an upright triangle, fits into the bottom side of lion snout 52.
The facial features are thus relatively flat making a reversible jacket particularly attractive. Preferably the thickness of the completed assembly of the various facial features has a thickness in the range of 0.05 to 2.50 centimeters, more preferably 0.15 to 2.00 centimeters and most preferably 0.20 to 1.50 centimeters. FIG. 2 illustrates [0057] lion jacket 10 from the back. This view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention best illustrates previously discussed position where lion neck portion 35 terminates and right lion hood portion 38 and left lion hood portion 40 overlap. Right lion hood portion 38 and left lion hood portion 40 are attached to lion neck potion 35 with light brown thread run stitching. At the position of overlap of right lion hood portion 38 and left lion hood portion 40 over lion neck portion 35, the two lion hood portions are shaped in inverted waves to resemble stylized lion mane. Also, this view of inventive lion jacket 10 shows lion back portion 58.
FIG. 3 illustrates a [0058] side view hood 16 of lion jacket 10. More particularly, FIG. 3 illustrates right lion hood portion 38 and a half of lion face portion 36. Lion neck portion 35 is made of beige colored fabric. At a distance of approximately 8 to 8.5 cm from where lion neck portion 35 is attached to the rest of lion jacket 10, beige color fabric terminates. This is illustrated by a trace line 35T. The rest of hood 16 is completed by a light brown colored fabric which overlaps onto the beige color fabric of lion neck portion 35. Light brown color fabric is stitched to beige color fabric of lion neck portion 35 in a pattern tracing the shape of light brown fabric at overlap zone. Light brown color fabric is an inverted wave-like shape and resembles stylized hair locks of a lion's mane.
[0059] Lion ears 42 are beige in color as lion neck portion 35. Lion ears 42 are circular in shape at their tips and are flat at the point of attachment to hood 16. Ears 42 are preferably about 0.30 to 0.75 centimeters in thickness. The general shape of lion ears 42 resembles a two-dimensional shape of a soap bubble which has landed on a flat surface. Lion ears 42 are attached to hood 16 between lion face portion 36 and lion hood portions 38 and 40, accordingly. Traced line in the general position of lion ears 42 illustrates the position of bull dog ears, infra, on the reverse side of the hood.
[0060] Bull dog ears 142 are also flat. Thus, when inventive jacket 10 is worn so as to expose lion jacket 10, bull dog ears are located inside hood 16. In this position, bull dog ears, fold and lay flat against the head of the wearer. According to this position, the bull dog ears' flat construction allows for concealment of bull dog ears from view when the inventive jacket exposes the other side, lion jacket 10.
Flat construction of bull dog ears, when folded flat against the wearer's head, does not create any visible markings or bumps to suggest that some portion is tucked away. The same holds true for when [0061] lion jacket 10 is reversed exposing bull dog jacket, infra, and lion ears 42 are folded flat against the wearer's head showing bull dog ears in their popped-up position. Consequently, reversing inventive jacket to show lion jacket 10 makes lion ears 42 pop out from their folded flat position.
Now turning to FIG. 4 which illustrates the reverse side of inventive jacket, namely [0062] bull dog jacket 110. Bull dog jacket 110 comprising right sleeve 112R, left sleeve 112L, front bull dog portion 114, and hood 16. Each sleeve 112 is comprised of right cuff 18R and left cuff 18L, and right sleeve body 120R and left sleeve body 120L.
Front [0063] bull dog portion 114 is comprised of right main panel 122R and left main panel 122L. Sleeves 112 and front bull dog portion 114, including main panels 122, are beige color.
At each side of [0064] zipper 28, said parts of bull dog jacket 110 are folded inside and stitched through forming right zipper flap 129R and left zipper flap 129L accordingly. Right zipper flap 129R and left zipper flap 129L are each approximately 1 cm wide. The two flaps enclose zipper 28. After zipper 28 terminates and hood 16 begins, a similar fold-in of plush fabric continues with stitching but without zipper 28 in the middle. See FIG. 5, infra, for a detailed view of folds in plush fabric that form the above mentioned flaps, 129R and 129L.
[0065] Hood 16 is made of the same beige color plush fabric as sleeves 112 and main panels 122. Three portions make up hood 16 of bull dog jacket 110. Bull dog face portion 136, right bull dog hood portion 138 and left bull dog hood portion 140.
[0066] Bull dog ears 142 are made of light brown plush fabric. Bull dog ears 142 are elongated in shape with rounded tips and are attached to bull dog hood 16 at a slant. Bull dog ears 142 are attached to bull dog hood 16 between bull dog face portion 136 and right bull dog hood portion 138 and left bull dog hood portion 140 accordingly.
[0067] Bull dog ears 142 are flat but are mounted in a manner which makes them extend away from hood portion 140, as illustrated in FIG. 3. Thus, when inventive jacket 110 is reversed so as to expose lion jacket, discussed supra, bull dog ears 142 are located inside lion jacket hood. In this position, bull dog ears 142, fold and lay flat against the head of the wearer. Thus, the flat construction of bull dog ears 142 allows for concealment of bull dog ears 142 from view when the inventive jacket exposes the other side, that is the lion side of jacket 10. Flat construction of bull dog ears 142, when folded flat against the wearer's head, does not create any visible markings or bumps to suggest that some portion is tucked away. Consequently, reversing inventive jacket to be a bull dog jacket 110 makes bull dog ears 142 pop out from their folded flat position.
[0068] Pseudo flap 131 is on the hood and is made by folding plush material inside, just like when forming flaps 129R and 129L, only now the two flaps, one from bull dog jacket 110 and the other from lion jacket, supra, are stitched together at the tips.
Bull [0069] dog face portion 136 is shaped like a two-dimensional dome. Components of animal character features are at the center of bull dog face portion 136. Components of animal character facial features are arranged flat, generally in one plane, while bull dog ears 142 are in a different plane. When worn, the plane where components of facial features are positioned is tilted in a down and forward direction from the top of hood 16 and below the plane where bull dog ears 142 are positioned. Thus, such positioning of facial components in a different plane from bull dog ears 142 plane and which is tilted creates an image of three-dimensionality.
Right eye background [0070] 144R and left eye background 144L are light brown color much like bull dog ears 142. Of course all colors are arbitrary. Right eye background 144R and left eye background 144L are attached to bull dog face portion 136 with light brown thread run stitching so that the stitching blends in with eye background 144 fabric.
[0071] Bull dog eyes 146 are manufactured from a black colored plush fabric. Black plush fabric of bull dog eyes 146 is attached to right and left eye backgrounds 144R and 144L, respectfully by black thread satin stitching. Thus, the stitching encircles the whole bull dog eye 146. A few very small white thread run stitches create bull dog pupil 148 in the center of bull dog eye 146.
[0072] Bull dog nose 150 is manufactured of black color plush fabric like bull dog eyes 146. Bull dog nose 150 is attached to bull dog face portion 136 with black thread satin stitching. The stitching traces the outline of the inverted triangular shape of bull dog nose 150.
[0073] Bull dog snout 151 is made of white color plush fabric. White thread run stitching attaches bull dog snout 151 to bull dog face portion 136. Bull dog snout 151 is positioned on top of bull dog nose 150 and between bull dog eye backgrounds 144R and 144L and thus between bull dog eyes 146.
[0074] Bull dog cheeks 152 are made of two pieces, right bull dog cheek 152R and left bull dog cheek 152L, which together with bull dog nose 150 form a shape of a red blood cell. Curved on top and concave at the bottom with droopy sides. Bull dog cheeks 152 are made of white plush material much like bull dog snout 151. Right bull dog cheek 152R and left bull dog cheek 152L are attached to bull dog face portion 136 with white thread run stitches. Through the center of bull dog cheeks 152 runs a black thread satin stitching outlining the center line of the bull dog character face.
[0075] Bull dog snout 151 and bull dog cheeks 152 are made of the same white color plush fabric. However, the pile of bull dog snout 151 fabric runs in an opposite direction to pile of bull dog cheeks 152 fabric. Thus, the same material, of the same color, with pile running in different directions creates a perception of different facial features.
[0076] Bull dog mouth 156 is made of pink color plush fabric. Bull dog mouth 156 is triangular in shape with a curved base resembling a tongue which is sticking out of a dog's mouth. Bull dog mouth 156 is attached to bull dog face portion 136 by pink thread run stitching along all sides.

The facial features are thus relatively flat making a reversible jacket particularly attractive. Preferably the thickness of the completed assembly of the various facial features has a thickness in the range of 0.05 to 2.50 centimeters, more preferably 0.15 to 2.00 centimeters and most preferably 0.20 to 1.50 centimeters. Claims

1. A reversible garment for children, comprising:

(a) a garment main body having an obverse and a reverse;

(b) a hood secured to said garment main body, said hood having an obverse and a reverse, said hood comprising:

(i) a rear portion having a base,

(ii) a top portion,

(iii) a front portion extending from said top portion in a forward and downward direction from said front portion, a tangent to the center of said front portion defining a display plane extending with respect to said top portion in a forward and downward direction with respect to said front portion, and

(iv) a pair of side portions;

(c) first facial components representing the facial features of a first character, said first facial components being positioned on and secured to said obverse of said front portion, and generally defining a plane which generally coincides with said display plane, when said hood is being worn by a child with said obverse exposed to view;

(d) first ear components representing the ears of said first character, said first ear components being positioned on and secured to said obverse of said side portions of said hood;

(e) second facial components representing the facial features of a second character, said second facial components being positioned on and secured to said reverse of said front portion, being configured to be relatively flat and generally defining a plane which generally coincides with said display plane, when said hood is being worn by a child with said reverse exposed to view; and

(f) second ear components representing the ears of said second character, said second ear components being positioned on and secured to said reverse of said side portions of said hood.

2. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein said first and second facial components being configured to be relatively flat.

3. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein said first and second ear components being positioned on and secured to at positions behind said display plane, when said hood is being worn by a child with said reverse exposed to view.

4. A reversible garment for children as in claim 3, wherein said first and second facial components being configured to be relatively flat.

5. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein said, garment main body having a body covering portion and a pair of arms.

6. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein said hood secured at base of said rear portion to said garment main body.

7. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein said ears are relatively flat and are secured vertically to said hood behind said top portion, said ears fold and lay flat against a wearer's head when said garment is in its reversed position, and said ears pop out from a folded flat to a vertical position.

8. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein first and second ear components, said first and second ear components being positioned on and secured to said reverse of said side portions of said hood at positions behind said display plane and below said first and second facial components, when said hood is being worn by a child with said reverse exposed to view.

9. A reversible garment for children as in claim 1, wherein said first and second ear components, are mounted in a manner which makes them extend away from said hood side portions.
