Abstract
An elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object is disclosed. A connector is used to connect the object with the air pressure rod. The adjusting device comprises an operating rod fixed to the object to be adjusted; a rope; and a movable plate pivotally connected to the connector. The pull end and the pressure applied end of the movable plate are not at the same line. It is only necessary to rotate the operating rod, the rope will be pulled to drive the pressure applied end of the movable plate to touch a touch moving end of the movable plate of the air pressure rod, causing the air pressure rod to move telescopically to drive the object to move upwards or downwards so as to adjust the position of the object.
Description
- The present invention relates to an elevational adjusting device, and particularly to an elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object, wherein a simple device is used to touch and move an air pressure rod so as to adjust the elevation of an object.
- Many objects (such as tables, chairs, etc.) are connected to air pressure rod. The elevations of these objects are adjusted by touching the air pressure rod to telescopically move. Referring to FIG. 1, a prior art
air pressure rod 10 is illustrated, which is used to adjust the height of a table 11. Generally, theair pressure rod 10 is fixed between atable plate 12 and thetable legs 13. Generally, anoperating rod 14 is installed near atouch moving end 101 of theair pressure rod 10. By moving theoperating rod 14, thetouch moving end 101 of theair pressure rod 10 is moved so as to control the telescopic movement of theair pressure rod 10. - Although above way for controlling the telescopic movement of the
air pressure rod 10 by using theoperating rod 14 is general and is an acceptable way, theoperating rod 14 has generally a fixed shape and is confined by assembly ways. For example, to install theoperating rod 14 near theair pressure rod 10, if thetable plate 12 is too large, the user's hand must extend to theoperating rod 14 for operating theoperating rod 14. However, the operation is inconvenient. Thereby, an extendable supportingframe 141 is designed for moving theoperating rod 14 to the outer side of thetable plate 12 for being operated conveniently. The sizes of thetable plate 14 are not uniform, and thus the size of theoperating rods 14 must be changed (generally, the size of operating rods is specific). As a result, manufacturing cost and time will be increased and thus the efficiency is low. - Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide an elevational adjusting device, wherein a simple device is used to touch and move an air pressure rod so as to adjust the elevation of an object.
- To achieve above object, the present invention provide an elevational adjusting device using an air pressure rod to lift an object. A connector is used to connect the object with the air pressure rod. The adjusting device comprises an operating rod fixed to the object to be adjusted; a rope having one end connected to the operating rod and another end of the rope connected to a movable plate; and a movable plate pivotally connected to the connector. The movable plate is rotatable. The movable plate has at least one pull end and one pressure applied end. The pull end is connected to the rope and the pressure applied end is near a telescopic end of the air pressure rod. The pull end and the pressure applied end are not at the same line.
- It is only necessary to rotate the operating rod, the rope will be pulled to drive the pressure applied end of the movable plate to touch a touch moving end of the movable plate of the air pressure rod, causing the air pressure rod to be telescopic to drive the object to move upwards or downwards so as to adjust the position of the object.
- The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing that a prior art pressure applied end is used to drive an object to displace.
- FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the operating elevational adjusting device of the present invention.
- FIG. 3 is an assembled view of the elevational adjusting device of the present invention.
- FIG. 4 shows one embodiment, wherein the elevational adjusting device of the present invention is installed to an object.
- FIG. 5 shows one application of the present invention.
- FIG. 6 shows one embodiment that the elevational adjusting device of the present invention is used to displace an object.
- FIG. 7 shows another embodiment that the elevational adjusting device of the present invention is used to displace an object.
- Referring to FIGS. 2, 3 and4, the operation device of the present invention comprises the following components.
- An
operating rod 20 is fixed to an object to be adjusted. In this embodiment, the object is a table 5. - A
rope 30 has one end connected to anoperating rod 20 and another end of therope 30 is connected to amovable plate 40. - A
movable plate 40 has apull end 41 and a pressure appliedend 42. Thepull end 41 is connected to therope 30 and the pressure appliedend 42 is near atelescopic end 51 of theair pressure rod 50. Thepull end 41 and the pressure appliedend 42 are not at the same line. - As shown in the figures, the main portion of the
operating rod 20 is enclosed within abox 21. The exposed portion of theoperating rod 20 is anoperating handle 22. Thebox 21 serves to fix thehandle 22 to any position of the table 5. - One
side 211 of thebox 21 is opened so that theoperating rod 20 may move easily. In this embodiment, the end of theoperating rod 20 connected to therope 30 has aline weight 201 which is pivotally connected to thebox 21 through ashaft 202, thereby, theoperating rod 20 may rotate and displace. - Besides, one side of the
box 21, i.e., the exposed side of theoperating handle 22, has aslot 212 so that theoperating handle 22 may move within the range of theslot 212. In this embodiment, theoperating handle 22 moves transversally. At the distal end that the operating handle moves, apositioning hole 213 is formed. Thepositioning hole 213 is perpendicular to aslot 212 so that after theoperating rod 20 pulls therope 30, theoperating rod 20 can be positioned in the positioning hole 213 (referring to FIG. 5) - The
movable plate 40 is pivotally connected to theconnector 52 of the table 5 by aretaining plate 43 between thepull end 41 and the pressure appliedend 42. The connector serves to connect the table 5 and theair pressure rod 50. Theconnector 52 in the drawing is a sheet which may have aretaining piece 521 at position with respect to theretaining plate 43. Apin 53 serves to connect theretaining plate 43 with theretaining piece 521, thereby, themovable plate 40 being movable upwards and downwards. Since thepull end 41 of themovable plate 40 is connected to therope 30, only if therope 30 is pulled, the pressure appliedend 42 of themovable plate 40 will swing downwards to touch thetouch moving end 51 of theair pressure rod 50. - In above description, the force of the
rope 30 to pull themovable plate 40 is uniform and smooth, a bottom of thepull end 41 of themovable plate 40 is installed with a round supportingseat 411. When therope 30 passes through thepull end 41, it is connected to astopper 301 so as to confine therope 30. Preferable, thestopper 301 has a ball shape or a cylindrical shape. - With reference to FIGS. 6 and 7, the application of the present invention is illustrated. In these two drawings, to be easily understood the interaction of the
operating rod 20 and themovable plate 40, theair pressure rod 50, table 5, andmovable plate 40 are presented by a front view, and theoperating rod 20 is fixed to a bottom of the table 5, which is an elevational cross section view. - Referring to FIG. 7, it is illustrated that the
operating handle 22 of theoperating rod 20 is moved transversally to thepositioning hole 213 of thebox 21 so that therope 30 is pulled and the pressure appliedend 42 of themovable plate 40 will touch and move thetouch moving end 51 of theair pressure rod 50. Thereby, theair pressure rod 50 will move telescopically to drive the connected table 5 to move upwards and downwards. - Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the invention is not limited to the details described thereof. Various substitutions and modifications have been suggested in the foregoing description, and others will occur to those of ordinary skill in the art. Therefore, all such substitutions and modifications are intended to be embraced within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
