Abstract
A kind of camp bed for multi-use as a table, a chair, an easy chair, a bed, and a personal tent. It is constructed of four foldaway pipe frame seats to support the human body, and each of the foldaway pipe frame seats are connected by a pair of hinge joints, positioned at both right and left side of each seat frame, and are able to be fixed at any angle from 0° to 180°. It has a pair of foldaway pipe legs, positioned at the front and rear under the 2nd pipe frame seat, this means the 2nd of four connected foldaway pipe frame seats. Positioned under the 2nd pipe frame seat, the rear foldaway pipe leg has a pair of slide pipes that are able to slide backward to lengthen to the base and is held by a pair of rear stops at the rear end. It has support pipes arranged on each outside face of the hinge joints, positioned at both right and left sides of each seat frame, that support both ends of flexible tent poles used to hang the tent cloth on the flat bed, constructed from four pipe frame seats as in FIG. 12.
Description
- The present invention relates to a kind of camp bed for multi-use, is able to be used as a table, a chair, an easy chair, a bed and a personal camp tent, through set up of varied shapes and assembly with optional tent set. It can also fold into a compact size.
- When we enjoy camping in nature, we need many camp goods to live for some days. We can get many camp goods for each purpose, for example, a camp chair FIG. 1 or a tent FIG. 2 on the market. However, we have to bring many camp goods for each purposes for camping life. For example a camp chair FIG. 1, a bed FIG. 2 and tents for each person are necessities for camping, as are several pieces of luggage, that occupies much space and is difficult to carry.
- FIG. 1 shows one kind of usual foldaway camp chair. It is very useful camp good, but it is used only for sitting, moreover it takes large space itself, even when it is fully folded.
- FIG. 2 shows a usual foldaway camp bed. It is a very useful camp good too, but it couldn't use except for a bed for taking a nap, moreover it takes quiet a large space even if when it is fully folded.
- And furthermore, it needs a tent set for staying overnight camp. The tent sets take up a large space too.
- The invention is “Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-use”, is designed to solve those problems. The problem of needing many camp goods for each purpose and each good taldng quiet a large space. To solve these problems mentioned above, the basic construction of the present invention is similar to typical foldaway camp bed on the market, but the invention has three differences from it.
- First difference is that typical foldaway camp bed on the market has3 flat pipe frame seats on the top, but the present invention “Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-use” has four pipe frame seats as A, B, C and D in FIG. 8 on the top, because it is able to change to different figures for each purpose, such as like a table FIG. 4, as a chair FIG. 5, as an easy chair FIG. 6 and as a personal bed FIG. 7.
- The second difference is that a typical foldaway camp bed on the market has a pair of foldaway front and rear legs each attached by a fixed axis under the center pipe frame seat, but the present invention “Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-use” has the same foldaway front pipe leg1 and
rear pipe leg 3 as a camp bed on the market FIG. 2, but therear pipe leg 3 is able to move backward until rear stop end, by a pair of sliding mechanisms ofslide pipe 14R & 14L,slide guide 15R & 15L and stopend 16R & 16L at will, this function is able to prevent the easy chair from falling down backward, and also is able to support with wide pitch between a front pipe leg 1 and arear pipe leg 3 in generally center position of the personal bed FIG. 7. - Third difference is that the present invention “Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-use” has several support pipes to support the
flexible tent poles -
hinge joints 10R & 10L, 12R & 12L of seat pipe frames, after that, hung several traps as 24 of thetent cloth 21 up on several positions of theflexible tent poles - The present invention will be more apparent from the following description of the preferred embodiments thereof in conjunction with the accompanying drawing in which:

- The invention “Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-use” is composed from four connected pipe frame seats A, B, C and D on the top and a pair of front pipe legs1 and
rear pipe legs 3 under the seat C. The connected four flat frame seats are constructed from light material pipe bar such as aluminum pipe, and are connected by a pair ofhinge joints 10R & 10L between the pipe frame seat A and the pipe frame seat B, 11R & 11L between the pipe frame seat B and the pipe frame seat C, 12R & 12L between the pipe frame seat C and the pipe frame seat D, whereas each pair ofhinge joints 10R & 10L, 11R & 11L and 12R & 12L are able to be fixed at any angles between 0° to 180° as desired. The hinge joints have a V shapedshort support pipes 9R & 9L and 13R & 13L to suport theflexible tent poles hinge joints 10R & 10L, 11R & 11L and 12R & 12L. Whereas four flat pipe frame seats can fold to close each other by each hinge joint axises. When the four flat pipe frame seats are opened in full flat position as in FIG. 7, each of the four flat pipe frame seats A, B, C and D support four part of human. - The pipe legs under the seat, are constructed from the light material pipe bar such as aluminum pipe. Those pipe legs are arranged on the front and rear side under the 2nd pipe frame seat C. The front pipe leg1 can fold to the back by using a pair of
hinge joints 2R & 2L attached under the pair of hinge joints at the front of the second pipe frame seat C. And therear pipe leg 3 can fold to front by using a pair ofhinge joints 4R & 4L, is position under and to the back side of second pipe frame seat C. - And that
rear pipe leg 3 can move to the rear by a sliding mechnism; a pair ofslide pipes 14R & 14L, theslide guide 15R & 15L, and thestop end 16R & 16L. - When the back seat is layed down to the back side or is layed down to full flat, the slided
rear pipe leg 3 helps stability of the easy chair and it suports the full flat seat with wide pitch legs between the front pipe leg 1 andrear pipe leg 3. - And optionally, it can set up the
tent cloth 21 and the fourflexible tent poles tent cloth 21 on the full flat seat as the bed. The tent cloth 12 is sewn to the three-dimensional shape as a drawing FIG. 12. In addition, it has twoFrench seams French seam tent cloth 21. TwoFrench seams pipe flame 5 and 8. So, both front and rear end of tent cloth is fixed on the both front and rear end of the pipe frame bed. - The following is in regards to use, first the starting the state of each pipe frame is folded in the most compact shape as in FIG. 3, which is convenient for transporting.
- Using as a small table FIG. 4, starting from the full folded state FIG. 3;
- (1) pull both front leg pipe1 and
rear pipe leg 3 down and set them on each stop end. - Using as a chair FIG. 5, starting from the state of a small table FIG. 4;
- (1) keeping the pipe frame seat C and D folded, pull up the folded pipe frame seat A and B by using a pair of
hinge joints 11R & 11L. - (2) fix the angle of folded pipe frame seat A and B in suitable angle to support human back by using a pair of
hinge joints 11R & 11L. - In the chair configuration FIG. 5; the hips sit on the folded pipe frame seat C and D, and the back rests on the folded pipe frame seat A and B. Using as an easy chair FIG. 6, starting from the state of a chair FIG. 5;
- (1) pull and slide the
rear leg pipe 3 to toward the back to stabilize the eazy chair FIG. 6 by using the slide mechanism; the pair ofslide pipes 14R & 14L, the pair ofslide guides 15R & 15L and the pair ofstop ends 16R & 16L, as desired. - (2) pull up the pipe frame seat D from the pipe frame seat C and fix the angle between the pipe frame seat D and the pipe frame seat C in confortable angle to support the human legs by using the pair of
hinge joints 12R & 12L. - (3) pull up the pipe frame seat A from the pipe seat frame B, and fix the angle between the pipe frame seat A and the pipe frame B to comfortably to support the head and the back by using a pair of
hinge joint 10R & 10L. - (4) re-fix the angle between the pipe frame seat C and the pipe frame seat B with seat A confortable to support the head on the pipe frame seat A, the back on the pipe frame seat B and the hips on the pipe frame seat C by using a pair of
hinge joints 11R & 11L. - Used as an easy chair FIG. 6; the head rests on the pipe frame seat A, the back on the pipe frame seat B, the hips on the pipe frame seat C and the legs on the pipe frame seat D.
- Using as a personal bed FIG. 7, starting from the state of an easy chair FIG. 6;
- (1) pull and slide the
rear leg pipe 3 back as far as posible and fix at the pair ofrear stop ends - (2) re-fix every angle of the pipe frame seats to full flat and parallel to ground level by using each pair of hinge angles10R & 10L, 11R & 11L and 12R & 12L.
- Changed to a personal bed FIG. 7; the head will rest on pipe frame seat A, the back on pipe seat frame seat B, the hips on pipe seat frame seat C and the legs on pipe frame seat D.
- Optionally, using as a personal tent FIG. 8, it needs the
tent cloth 21, that has a pair ofFrench seams tent cloth 21, and fourflexible tent poles tent cloth 21. Starting from the state of a personal bed FIG. 7; - (1) first, stand the pipe frame seat A and the pipe frame seat D up.
- (2) cover both
French seams tent cloth 21 on both pipe frame seat A and the pipe frame seat D. - (3) lay pipe frame seat A with the
French seam 22 and the pipe frame seat D with theFrench seam 23 to the state of full flat bed FIG. 7. - (4) set first two flexible tent poles; curve one flexible tent pole as the cross arch on pipe frame seat B and pipe frame seat C, and put each end of a flexible tent pole into each
hole 9L(a) and 13R(a) of thesupport pipes 9L and 13R. and in the same way, curve another one the flexible tent poles in the opposite cross arch on pipe frame seat B and pipe frame seat C and put both ends of the flexible tent pole into the eachhole 9R(a) and 13L(a) ofsupport pipes - (5) next set two flexible tent poles; curve one flexible tent pole as an arch, and put both ends of the flexible tent pole into each
hole 9L(b) and 13L(b) of thesupport pipes hole 9R(b) and 13R(b) of the oppositeside support pipes - (6) finally attach several straps,24 s, of the
tent cloth 21 to several positions on each of thetent poles - This completes the personal tent floated from the ground; doorway18R & 18L.
- And it can be constructing another eaves top on the easy chair through using any attachments for it's purposes.
Claims (5)
1. The present invention, Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-Use, has connected fordaway four pipe frame seats on the top to support human body; the head, the back, the hips and the legs for each, and has a pair of front and rear foldaway pipe frame legs lower part of the top.
2. In addition to the claim 1 , a pair of foldaway front and rear pipe frame legs are arranged lower side of the top second pipe frame seat of connected four pipe frame seats.
3. In addition to the claim 1 , each pair of hinge joints connecting top four pipe frame seats can be fixed at any angles between 0 degree to around 180 degrees as desired.
4. In addition to the claim 1 , the rear foldawy pipe frame leg has the slide mechanism to move from the rear end position of top second pipe frame seat, supporting the hip, to the the back end position of the slide mechanism, meanes near from a pair of the hinge joints position between the third pipe frame seat, supporting the back, and the fourth pipe frame seat, supporting the head, and that sliding rear pipe frame leg can be hold on any position between front stop end and rear stop end as desired.
5. In addition to the claim 1 , Foldaway Camp Bed for Multi-Use, has some support pipes on several point arround the four connecred pipe frame seat pipes to support some attachments and poles, for example, supporting the flexible tent poles to hung up the tent cloth on the flat bed constructed by four pipe frame seats, or supporting the poles to set the eaves on the easy chair as FIG. 13.
