Abstract
A glasses with bridges and temples which are fixed to lens frames, without depending upon deposition. Bridges and temples of this glasses can be changed easily according to one's taste because they are not deposited to lens frames but are fixed to lens frames through the medium of sleeves and other means.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- This invention relates to glasses with parts, such as a bridge between two lens frames, temples, etc., which can be fixed firmly, without depending upon deposition.
- 2. Prior Art
- In the conventional glasses, two lens frames with the required space left therebetween are connected by one or two bridges and each of temples is fixed foldably to an end piece provided at the outer side of lens frames. These lens frames, bridges, temples, etc. are fixed together by deposition.
- With the development of high-fashioned glasses in recent years, in some cases each part of glasses is made of different materials. However, in making each part of glasses with different materials, it is required that such materials must be deposited to each other and therefore materials which cannot be deposited are not usable even if they are excellent in quality and designability.
- The present invention has for its object to provide glasses with parts which are fixable to each other, irrespective of whether their materials are depositable or not.
- Glasses according to the present invention comprises two lens frames, two lenses, two temples, sleeves and end pieces, of which at least lens frames, sleeves and end pieces are formed with depositable materials. Two lens frames have sleeves at the upper part and the inner side thereof. A bridge and a U-shaped bridge are laid between and fixed to the opposite sleeves. A base end portion of each temple is fitted in and fixed to a sleeve provided at an end of an end piece. Thus, parts formed with materials which cannot be deposited are fixable, without depending upon deposition.
- The drawings show an embodiment of the glasses according to the present invention, in which:
- FIG. 1 is a front view of the whole glasses according to the present invention;
- FIGS.2(A), (B), (C) and (D) are explanatory drawings showing different methods of fixing together a bridge and a sleeve;
- FIGS.3(A), (B), (C) and (D) are explanatory drawings showing different methods of fixing U-shaped bridge;
- FIG. 4 is a side view of the temple fixing portion, in which FIG. 4(A) shows the method of fixing by pins and FIG. 4(B) shows the method of fixing by caulking; and
- FIGS.5(A) and (B) are explanatory drawings of FIG. 4(A) and (B).
- A description is made below of the glasses according to the present invention on the basis of an embodiment shown in the drawing.
- In the drawing,
numeral lens frame 1 is not limited to that shown in FIG. 1 but any shape and any design can be adopted for the lens frame. The desired lens 9 is set in eachlens frame 1. Numeral 2 designates a sleeve deposited to the upper part of eachlens frame 1. Thesesleeves 2 are arranged on eachlens frame 1 in such a fashion that they oppose to each other. Abridge 3 is of either cylinder form or pipe form and both ends thereof are fixed in eachsleeve 2. Thebridge 3 is fixed in thesleeve 2 in the following ways. As shown in FIG. 2(A),pin holes bridge 3 and thesleeve 3 respectively at the position where the pin holes correspond to each other. An end portion of thebridge 3 is inserted into thesleeve 2 until bothpin holes pin 22 is put through the pin holes and where necessary, a top end of thepin 22 is caulked. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 2(B), abolt 32 provided protrudingly at the top end of thebridge 3 is put through thesleeve 2 and the top end of thebolt 32 which projects from thesleeve 2 is held with anut 23 or as shown in FIG. 2(C), after a top end of thebridge 3 is fitted in thesleeve 2, thesleeve 2 is pressed from the outside and is fixed. FIG. 2(D) shows a different embodiment of the fixing method, namely, this method does not use a sleeve but at least one fixing pin 24 is provided on thelens frame 1 and is put in afixing hole 33 made at the top end of thebridge 3, and the top end of the fixing pin 24 is caulked for fixing. - A
nose bridge 4 of U-shaped curve to be laid between twolens frames bolt 41 provided at the top end of the U-shapedbridge 4 is screwed in asleeve 5 of pipe form with a female screw at the inner surface thereof. Thissleeve 5 is deposited to thelens frame 1 at the desired position. Regarding the method of fixing shown in FIG. 3(B), afitting rod 42 provided at the top end of the U-shapedbridge 4 is fitted in thesleeve 5 and is caulked for fixing. With regard to the method of fixing shown in FIG. 5(C), thebolt 41 provided at the top end of the U-shapedbridge 4 is fitted in thesleeve 5 and a top end of thebolt 41 projecting from thesleeve 5 is held with anut 52, similarly to FIG. 2(B). - A
temple 8 is fixed as shown in FIG. 4(A). Asleeve 7 of pipe form is made at the top end of anend piece 6. Apin hole 71 is made in thesleeve 7 and also apin hole 82 is made in afitting rod 81 provided protrudingly at the base end side of thetemple 8. Thefitting rod 81 of thetemple 8 is inserted into thesleeve 7 until bothpin holes pin 72 is put therethrough. Where necessary, the top end of thepin 72 is caulked for fixing. It is possible, as shown in FIG. 4(B), that after the base end side of thetemple 8 is inserted in thesleeve 7, thesleeve 7 is pressed from the outside for fixing thetemple 8. - The
lens frame 1 and thesleeve end piece 6 may be made of different material but should be made of material which can be deposited to each other. Thesleeves lens frame 1, and thebridges temples 8 are fixed to these sleeves. Therefore, the bridges and the temples may be made of either depositable material or material which cannot be deposited. - According to the present invention, at least
lens frames 1, sleeves and end pieces are formed with depositable material, sleeves are provided at the upper part and at the inner side of two lens frames, a bridge and a U-shaped bridge are laid between Opposite sleeves, the bridges and the sleeves are fixed together, and a base end side of the temple is fitted in and fixed to a sleeve provided at an end of an end piece. Thus, fixation between parts, such as lens frame, bridge, temple, etc., can be done accurately, even in the case where parts cannot be deposited to each other. Moreover, temples and bridges can be changed easily according to one's taste.
