` claims. (o1. 24a-55.2)
The invention relates to dispensing iiXtures for the inner face of the base. By this construction, rolls -of sheet material, such as paper towels and the arms or'brackets i8 are spring-urged toward toilet paper. v each other about their fulcrumed bearing on the An object oi the invention is to provide animribs 23. Each spring is confined against lateral 5 proved dispensing xture for rolledA sheet matemovement by the slots i6 in whichrthey it, the 5 rial, whereby to reduce the number of parts and spring legs being .at the outer ends oz" the slots. to simplify` manufacture and assembly. The tempering of each spring may be connned The invention further consists in the several if desired, to the arched intermediate portion 24.

At their free end portions, the arms or brackets In the accompanying drawing, illustrating two i8 are provided with rounded embossments or 10 specilic embodiments of the invention, hubs 25 secured in place by marginal iianges 2S Fig. 1 is a top View of a dispensing xture on the arms. The embossments 25 are adapted constructed in accordance with the invention, to enter the opposite hollow ends of a roll 2l of parts being brokenY away and parts being shown sheet material tobe dispensed, such as paper in section; toweling or toilet paper, the roll being rotatably 15 Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the xture, taken mounted on the embossments. In the present generally along the line 2-2 of Fig. 1; instance, the roll is shown to be provided with Fig. 3 is a rear View of one end portion of the a tubular core 23 of paper or other suitable ma- Xtllle, parts being broken away and parts being terial. An annular shoulder 2S on each embossshown in section, and ment or hub is engageable with the end of the roll 20 Fig. 4 is a View similar to Fig. 2, but showing a and is urged thereagainst by the action of the modified form of the invention. spring Il to frictionally retard the rotation of In the drawing, i9 designates a rectangular the roll, base or support having marginal flanges il which In the modied form of arm mounting shown are adapted to engage a wall l2, usually a vertical in Fig. the wire spring il has its retractable 25 wall. The base i0, preferably a sheet metal legs at the inner sides of the side flanges i9 of stamping, is secured to the wall i2 by screws i3 the arm or `bracket i8, and the legs have outwardwhich pass through openings Ui formed in dished ly projecting hooks i. l at their Yforward ends reportions i 5 of the base. Y ceived in the openings 2li of the arm iianges.
The base construction is similar to that shown The spring legs slidably fit in aligned slots I6 30 in my joint Letters Patent with Nicholas Tusformed in the base i, and are disposed at the zynski, No. 1,955,067, for Roll towel lixture, issued inner ends of these slots.

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A dispensing xture for paper rolls and the like, comprising a base having an apertured wall, spaced roll-supporting brackets on said base for receiving a roll therebetween, at least one of said brackets being swingable with respect to the base, and a spring engaging said base and having retractable legs projecting forwardly through said base and connected to said bracket for urging said swingable bracket toward the roll.
2. A dispensing xture for paper rolls and the like, comprising a base having an apertured wall, spaced roll-supporting brackets on said base for receiving a roll therebetween, at least one of said brackets being swingable with respect to the base, and a spring engaging said base and having legs projecting forwardly through said base and provided with hooked ends pivotally engaging said swingable bracket for urging said bracket toward the roll.
3. A dispensing iixture for paper rolls and the like, comprising a base having an apertured wall, spaced roll-supporting brackets on said base for receiving a roll therebetween, at least one of said brackets being swingable with respect to the base, and a spring engaging said base and having legs projecting forwardly through said base and provided with end portions pivotally connected to said bracket for urging said swingable bracket toward the roll.
4. A dispensing fixture for paper rolls and thev like, comprising a base having a wall with aligned slots, spaced roll-supporting brackets on said base for receiving a roll therebetween, at least one of said brackets being swingable with respect to said base, and a wire spring engaging said base and having legs projecting forwardly through said slots and provided with hooked ends pivotal- 1y engaging said swingable bracket for urging said bracket toward the roll, said legs being disposed at opposite ends of said slots for confining said legs against lateral shifting.
5. A dispensing xture for paper rolls and the like, comprising a base, spaced roll-supporting brackets on said base for receiving a roll therebetween, at least one of said brackets being swingable with respect to said'base, and a bracket securing spring engaging said base and having portions pivotally engaging said bracket for holding said bracket on said base and for urging said swingable b racket toward the roll.
