This invention relates to a thread guide drive for centrifugal spinning machines, in which the thread coming from the nozzle is conducted into a rotating spinning vessel, for-which .purpose asli'cending and descending thread guide funnels, mounted on a common reciprocating frame, are employed.
It'is known in these machines to effect the up and down movement of the thread guide funnels or of the common reciprocating frames from a guide cam. It is, however, necessary in these machines to adjust the length of stroke of the thread guide funnels accordingly to suit the actual counts of yarn. With this object in view the drive transmission from the cam to the reciprocating frames is effected through the intermediary of other mechanical elements, such as levers or the like. This construction of thedrive is open to the objection that, owing to the masses to be moved, the reciprocating frames are subjected to vibrations which result in irregular thread laying and consequently produce an incorrect winding. Moreover, this arrangement is complicated and extremely difficult as regards attendance for the adjustment of the stroke and it wastes time. In these known machines the drive of the guide cams is transmitted from a slowly rotating shaft, so that strong reversing shocks are produced which again prevent the ing free from vibrations.v
The object of the invention is, to overcome these objections.
For this purpose the drive of the reciprocating frames is derived directly from a vertically arranged cam pivotable around its hub without any intermediate elements, the cam being driven by a worm' gear from ;a common shaft rotating at a high speed. It is advisable to arrange a cam between every two reciprocating frames of the machine. The cam pivotally mounted on its hub can be adjusted into and secured in any desired 2 position by means of screws. It is also advismachine or the reciprocating frames from work-- -.able, to suspend the reciprocating frames on springs in order to relieve the cams.
The advantages of this construction of drive consist in that the reciprocating frames and consequently the thread guiding funnels work entire- 69 1y free from vibration, so that a uniform thread laying and a correct winding are obtained. Moreover, this arrangement is extremely simple to erect and enables a quick, simple and fine adjustment of the cams to adapt the length of stroke to the actual titer to be spun. j
The accompanying drawing illustrates by way of examples, thread guide drive in'diagrammatic longitudinal view.
On a shaft 1 a 70 cam 2 is arranged which is driven from a rapidly rotating shaft 18 through the intermediary of a worm gear 3. The cam 2 is oscillatably mounted on its hub 4 and can be adjusted into and secured in any position by screws 5, 6 to adjust the length of stroke. The transmission from the cam 2 to the reciprocating frames 7, 8 is effected by direct transmission by rollers 9, 10 on the reciprocating frames, said rollers engaging in the cam 2. 0n the reciprov eating frames transverse beams 11, 12am mounted which carry the thread guiding funnels 13 for, laying the thread into the spinning vessels 14. The reciprocating frames 7, 8 are further suspended from the transverse beam 15 by means of springs 16, 1'7 for the-purpose of relieving the cam 2. I claim:
A thread guide drive for centrifugal spinning machines, comprising in combination two reciprocatable frames, a vertically adjustable cam oscillatable around its hub and adapted to directly drive said frames, a shaft carrying said cam, a
rapidly rotating driving shaft, a worm gear between s'aid cam shaft and said driving shaft adapted to drive said cam shaft, and springs carrying said frames to relieve said cam.
