The object of this invention is to improve the construction of harness-saddles, so as to make them simpler in construction, more convenient in use, and less expensive in manufacture.
The invention, will first be described in connection with the drawings, and then pointed out in the claim.
A is the saddle-tree or frame, upon the rear edge of which is formed the back-strap loop a Upon the upper side of the rear edge of the saddle-tree A, and between the arms of the back-strap loop a is formed a pin, a, projectin g to the rearward.
B is the seat, which is formed with a transverse strengthening rib, in the usual way. Upon the middle part of the strengtheningrib of the seat B is formed a projection having a hole formed through it to form an eye, b, to receive the pin a and thus connect the seat securely to the saddle-tree. The seat B is further secured in place by the bolt 0, that passes through the forward part of the seat B, the forward part of the saddle-tree A, and the shank of the water-hook D, and fastens said three parts B A D securely together.
E is the under plate, which has holes formed through its edges, and is tacked or sewed to the flap F.
The under plate E, the flap F, the cap G, and the sidestrap H are secured to each other and to the saddle-tree A by the terret I and its nut J.
Having thus described myinvention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Pat- 6Ilb The eye b formed upon the seat B, and the pin 'or projection a formed upon the saddletree A, for connecting said seat and saddletree with each other, substantially as herein shown and described.
