4. Claims. (Cl. 206-1) This invention relates to a case for holding hair clippers for protecting the same against contamination and sterilizing them when not in use. i

An object of the invention is to provide a holder and sterilizer of the above kind adapted to be readily mounted on a wall in a convenient position for use, and characterized by an extremely simple construction that is inexpensive to manufacture and sightly in appearance.

The invention consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

Figure 1 is a side elevational view of a holder and sterilizer for hair clippers constructed in accordance with the present invention.

Referring more in detail to the drawing, the present invention contemplates the provision of a vertically elongated case of a size and shape to freely and properly accommodate or receive hair clippers 5 of the Velectrically or mechanically driven type having a handle from which extends the usual power transmitting element 6 in the form of an electrical conductor or flexible shaft. As shown, the case consists of a hollow body formed with a ilat back 7 adapted to be placed flatly against a wall and provided with top and bottom apertures 8 to receive screws, nails or other fastening elements 9, whereby the case is rigidly secured on the wall. The body of the case includes a lower cup-shaped portion 10 rigid with the back 7 near its lower end, and an upper cover section 1l composed of side, top and front walls and hinged at the lower edge of its front wall to the upper edge of the front wall of the lower portion 10 so as to swing outwardly and downwardly to an open position as indicated by dotted lines in Figure 3. It will be noted that the upper edge of the front wall of the lower portion 10 is of rounded or cylindrical form as at 13 yto form a bead engaged at the ends by depending ears 141r on the lower edge of the front wall of cover section 13 at the sides of the latter, pivots 15 passing through the ears 14 into the bead 13 axially wall of cover section 11 between the ears 14 swings in an arc concentric with the pivots 15 and the periphery of bead 13 to constantly engage the latter. This lower edge of the front wall of cover section 11, indicated at 16, swings into engagement'with the front wall of thev lower portion 10 and thereby acts as a stop for limiting the vopening movement of cover section 1l, to a position wherein ,the latter extendsy outwardly and downwardly as indicated' by` dotted lines in Figure 3, wherein it is in convenient position to be closed readily, although in no way interfering with the introduction of the clippers within the lower cup-shaped portion 10 preparatory to closing the cover section 11.

The top wall of cover section 11 is provided with a central slot inwardly from its rear edge as at 17 to accommodate the power-transmitting element 6 of the hair clippers when the cover section l1 is closed. The lower cup-shaped portion 10 of the case is provided on its front, rear, side and bottom walls with a lining of suitable soft or yielding and absorbent material 18, such as felt, cloth or the like. This lining protects the bladed end of the hair clippers against damage from repeated insertion in the case and removal theresterilizing liquid with which the lining 18 is saturated. By swinging the cover section 11 outwardly and downwardly to open position, the handle of the hair clippers is exposed at the sides and front so as to be conveniently grasped for ready removal of the clippers from the case.

The device is intended to be made of some light weight and durable material, such as cast aluminum, or the like. Minor changes are contemplated within the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

What I claim as new is.

l. A holder and sterilizer for hair clippers comprising a vertically elongated case including a hollow body of a form and size to receive and support the hair clippers in an upright position and including a flat back wall apertured at the top and bottom for being rigidly fastened upon a wall a cup-shaped lower body portion rigid with the back wall near its lower end, and a hollow upper cover section hinged at its lower end to the top of said cup-shaped portion upon a horizontal axis to swing outwardly and downwardly to an open position.

A holder and sterilizer for hair clippers comprising a vertically elongated case including a hollow body of a form and size to receive and support the hair clippers in an upright position and including a flat back wall apertured at the top and bottom for being rigidly fastened upon a wall, a cup-shaped lower body portion rigid with the back wall near its lower end, a hollow upper cover section hinged at its lower end to the top of said cup-shaped portion upon a horizontal axis to swing outwardly and downwardly to an openpovsition, and a lining of yieldable absorbent material in the cup-shaped portion adapted to be saturated with an antiseptic or sterilizing liquid;

A holder and sterilizer for hair clippers comy prising a vertically elongated case including a hollow body of a form and size to receive and sup# port the hair clippers in an upright position and including a iiat back wall apertured at the top and bottom for being rigidly fastened upon 'a Wall, a cup-shaped lower body portion rigid with the back wall near its lower end, a hollow upper cover section hinged at its lower end to the top of said cup-shaped portion upon a horizontal aXis to swing outwardly and downwardly to an open position, said cover section being composed of top, side and front walls and having depending ears at the sides of the lower edge of its front wall, the upper edge of the front wall of the cup-shaped lower portion being in the form of a horizontal cylindrical bead engaged at the ends by said ears and at the periphery by the lower edge of the front wall of the cover section between the ears, and pivots hinging the cover section to the lower cup-shaped portion extending through the ears intov said bead.
