My invention relates to sanitary paper holders and dispensers, and the objects of my invention are:
First, to provide a device of this class which is Vparticulaiiy adapted for holding the paper neck bands used by barbers. r
Second, to provide a deviceof thisclass which protects the paper from dust and( dirt.
Third, to provide a device of this class which is particularly easy to operate and readily refilled.
Fourth, to provide a device of this class which mayb-seither hung or fastened toV a wall orV rest upon a table or the like; and
to pre lide on the whole a novelly cond sanitrypap'erv holder and dispenser .vhich is particularly simple of construction proportional to its functions, durabla'eflicientin its action, which will not readily deteriorate'or get ont of'order'.V Y Y With these and other objects in View as will appear hereinafter, my invention consists of certain novel features o construction, combination and a angement of parts and portions as will be hereinafter descr .ed detailand particularly set jiort'h'in the appended claims'reference being had-to the accompanying drawing and to the characte's of reference thereon which form va partei this application, in which: l f

The shell 3 is longitudinally slit from end to end, as indicated by The shell 3 is disposed so that the slit 3a faces downwardly and outwardly as shown best in Figs. l, e and 5. The upper margin of the slit 3a is provided with a lip member 5l which extends radially outwardly therefrom. The lower margin of said slit 3c binding ll, except-that said reinforcing 6 is provided with a rudimentary radially outwardly extending portion 6a.
The end members l and 2 are provided with slots lc 'and 2c cut into their rim portions la and 2a respectively, which are arranged to receive the ends of the lip member 5 and projecting portion 6a.
The end members l and 2 are also provided with centrally disposed openings ld and. 2d respectively which areA adapted to receive a rod 7. The rod 7 may be permanently attached to the end member l, but the end of said rod extending through the end member 2' is provided lwithl a locking nut 8, so that the end member 2 may be removed.

Secured to the upright portion 12d of one support member 12, is one end of a cross bar 13. The connection is preferably in the form of a rivet or the like so as to permit pivotal movement of the cross bar 13. The extended end thereof is provided with a notch 13a which is "110 adapted to engage a hook portion 12e provided in the other support member at the upper extremity of its upright portion 12d. The cross bar 1B is provided intermediate its ends with a securing lug 13b.
The device is refilled by unscrewing the nut 8 and shifting the end member 2 axially away from the rod 7, whereupon the old roll of paper may be removed and a new roll inserted. The end of the new roll is easily placed in the slot 3a by reason of the fact that the end of said slot is open when the end-member 2 is removed. l
Though I have shown and described a particular construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions, I do not wish to be limited. to this particular construction, combination and arrangement, but desire to include in the scope of my invention, the construction, combination and arrangement substantially as set forth in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including a pair of end members, and a cylindrical shell member connecting vsaid end members, means for securing said members together, one of said end members being removable whereby a roll of tissue paper may be inserted in said shell member, said shell member provider with a slit arranged to receive an `end of said tissue paper, a guard means extending outwardlyl from a margin or said slit, a tearing means formed at the extremity of said guard means, and friotional tension means interposed between one end member and the roll o tissue for retarding the revolution of said roll.
2. In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including a pair of end members, and a cylindrical shell member, a centrally disposed rod extending between said end members arranged to support a roll of tissue within said shell member, said shell member provided with a slit extending the length thereof, means associated with the margins of said slit arranged to engage said end members so as to retain said shell member in its cylindrical form., and frictional tension means interposed between one end member and the roll of tissue for retardingrthe revolution oi said roll.
3. In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including a pair of end members and a cylindrical kshell member, a centrally disposed rod extending between said end members arranged to support a roll of tissue within said shell'member, said shell member provided with a slit extending the length thereof, means associated with the margins of said slit arranged to engage said end members so as to retain said shell member in its cylindrical form, means removably supporting one of said end members relative to said shell member whereby a roll of tissue may be inserted axially into said shell member, and frictional tension means interposed between one end member and the roll of tissue for retarding the revolution of said roll.

In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including a pair of end members, and a cylindrical shellv member, a centrally disposed rod extending between said end members arranged to support a roll of tissue within said shell member, said shell member provided with a slit extending the length thereof, means associated with the margins of said slit arranged to engage said end members so as to retain said shell member in its cylindrical form, a support for each end member extending downwardly therefrom, an upright portion extending tangentially with each end member and a cross bar connecting said uprights.

In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including a pair of end members and a cylindrical'shell member, a centrally disposed rod extending between said end members arranged to support a roll of tissue within said shell member, said shell member provided with a slit extending the length thereof, means associated with the margins of said slit arranged to engage said end members so as to retain said shell member in its cylindrical form, means removably supporting one of saidv end members relative to said shell member whereby a roll of tissue may be inserted axially into said shelll member,`a support for each end member extending downwardly therefrom, an upright portion extending tangentially with each end member, and a cross bar pivotally connected to one of said upright portions and removably connected with the other of said upright portions.

In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including, end members, rim portions formed at the peripheries of said end members, and a cylindrical shell member extending between said end members, the ends of said shell member `arranged to fit Within said rim portions, said shell member provided With a slit extending the length thereof, projections coextensive with said slit and extending outwardly from the margins thereof, means formed in said rim portions for receiving the ends of said projections, means removably supporting one of said end members relative to said shell member whereby a roll of tissue may be inserted axially into said shell member, a support for each end member extending downwardly therefrom, an upright portion extending tangentially witheach end member, and a cross bal` pivotally connected to one of said upright portions and removably connected with the other of said upright portions.

In a sanitary paper holder and dispenser, a casing including a pair ofl end members, and a cylindrical shell member connecting said end members, means for securing said members together, one of said end members being removable whereby a roll of tissue paper may be inserted in said shellmember, said shell member provided `with a slit'arranged to receive an end of said tissue paper, a guard means extending Aoutwardly from a margin of said slit, a tearing means formed at `the extremity of said guard means, and frictional tension means for retarding the revolution of said roll consisting of plates mounted in said end members engageable with the opposite ends of said roll oi tissue and a spring interposed between one of said plates and one end member.
