IMPROVEMENT IN NURSERY GAS AND HEATING STOVES.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 189,787, dated April 17, 1877 application filed January 2, 1877.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SAMUEL RoTHscHILD,

, Jr., of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

.This invention relates to a new and useful improvement in an article designed to be used as a nursery gas heating-stove and lamp combined, whereby a very cheap, convenient, and efficient device is provided, and one not liable to get out of repair; and its object is twofold-first, to furnish a gas heating-stove for nursery purposes and like uses, and, second, to provide a light by the same device, which can conveniently be used as the ordinary drop-light when the stove or heater is not in use; and it consists in the combination of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described, and pointed out by the claim.

In the annexed drawing, the figure represents a side elevation of a device embodying my invention, with a portion of the base broken away, showing the lower connection.

A represents the base, made in any desired shape, and provided in the top with an opening to admit the pipe, and an opening on the side to admit the supply-pipe D, which re. clines to ordinary flexible tube, which is connected with the ordinary gas-fixture.

Extending upward from the pipe a, and attached to it, is a detachable pipe, b, provided on the top with stove or heater B. The turncock 0 regulates the flow of gas to the stove or heater. The pipe 61 is also connected to the pipe a, and extends outward and upward by suitable connections, and is provided at the top with the ordinary burner O and turncock 6.

It will be seen that by this invention the heater and light 0 Ill be used at the same time, or either can be used separately; or, if the heater is not in use, it can be removed. as it is made detachable, and the balance of the device he used as the ordinary drop-light.

Having thus fully described the invention, what is claimed, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, is-

The combined heater or stove and burner, consisting of the base A, pipes at and d, heater B, burner O, detachable pipe I), and turn-cocks c and. e, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
