This invention relates to an attachment for tractors whereby the machine to which it is connected will be guided properly along a furrow without requiring `attention from the driver.
A further object is to provide aj guiding attachment which can be applied readily to different makes of tractors.
Another object is to so mount the device as to allow it to be moved quickly into or out of active position.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made Within the` scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings the preferred form of the invention has been shown.

Referring to the figures by characters of reference, A designates the front wheels of a tractor adapted to swing about the knuckles B and provided with the usual arms C connected by a rod D.
The axle is engaged by clamps 1 having upwardly extending studs 2 and pivotally mounted on each stud is Ya lever 3 held in place by a cotter pin 4 or other suitable means.
The rear ends of levers 3 are slotted lonv gitudinally as at 5 to receive studs 6 projecting from blocks 7 having eyes 8 through which rod D is extended. Set screws 9 or the like are used for securing the rod in the eyes and suitable means, such as a washer 10 Serial No. 556,915.

Adjustably mounted o n rod 14 rear-its ends f are collars 18 located close to the outer sides 65 of channeled side membersf19. A pipe'20'is rotatably mounted on the/rod and the channeled members 19v rest on the ends thereof where they are fastened by clamps 21.
The side members 19 are rigidly connected 'mi by cross braces 22 so as to form a frame and seated in notches 23 in the bottoms of the members 19 near their front ends are the ends of an angular tubular bar 24.y The bar is secured in these notches by clamp menibers25 75 having bar receiving notches 26 and held to the members 19 by bolts 27.
A pair of standards 28 is located beneath bar 24 between members 19 and each has ay concavo-conveX wheel 29 journaled on a spin- 80 dle 30 at 4the lower end `of the standard. A head 3l having an angularrecess 32'is pro` vided at the upper end of each standard and these heads are held securely to the bar 24 A by plates 33 and bolts 34. The plates are re- 8 cessed at 35 so that the bar will rest in the recesses 32 and 25 and thereby hold the sta-ndards against rotation about the bar.
The wheels 29 are oppositely disposed and "d are located where they will travel in a furrow close to and between the hills at the sides thereof.
A bracket 36 is attached to the front of they tractor and can be braced as at 37. A lever 38 Y,
is pivotally connected thereto and is connected by a link 39 to one ofthe braces 22. A cable 40 or other connecting means extends from lever 38 to an operating lever 41.
When the tractor moves forwardly between rows being cultivated,`the wheels 29 will follow the center of the furrow and when they swing laterally the frame formed by members 19 and their connections will shift laterally therewith. Thus levers 3 will be 5 swung on their ulcrums and actuate rod D to turn wheels A and cause the tractor to follow the wheels 29. By actuating lever 4l the wheels 29 can loe lifted from engagement with the soil. This device is very simple and inexpensive in construction Vand is also advantageous hecause it can be applied readily to tractors of different makes.
Vhat is claimed is:
l. A guide attachment for tractors including spaced levers, means for connecting them pivotally to an axle, means for connecting them pivotally to the steering mechanism of a tractor, a frame pivotally connected to both levers for movement therewith7 an angular cross har carried by the trame, standards adjustably connected to the har, and opposed wheels connected to the standards.

A guide attachment for tractors includ- 25 ing spaced levers, means for connecting them pivotally to an axle, means for connecting them pivotally to the steering mechanism of a tractor, a frame pivotally connected to both levers for movement therewith, an angular cross har seated inthe sides of the frame, means` for clamping the bar against said sides, Vopposed wheels, standards connected thereto7 recessed heads on the standards, and means for clamping the har in the recessed 35 heads.
3. A guide attachment for tractors including spaced levers, means for pivotally connecting them to an axle for lateral movement, means for pivotally connecting them to the steering mechanism of a tractor, a rod connecting the levers and movable therewith, a sleeve on the rod, a frame clamped to the sleeve, guide wheels connected to the frame and means for raising and lowering the frame relative to the levers.
