Thisinvention relates to a tent construction, and aims to provide a tent covering designed primarily for use in connection w th chapel tent frames.

An important object of the invention is to provide a tent covering so constructed that it may be readily and easily positioned over a tent frame, novel means being provided for securing the covering in position.

'10 A further object of the invention is the provision of a tent having removable side walls which may be readily and easily removed or replaced to facilitate the use of the device as a chapel tent.

Referringto the drawings in detail, the frame of the tent is indicated generally by D the reference character 5, and as shown comprises an upper curved section or roof 6, which is braced by means of the horizontal pipe section 7, all of which construction is clearly shownand described in my Patent No. 1,738,219, dated December 3, 1929.

The cover which is formed of suitable fabric material, employed in the construction of tents of this character, is shown as having end portions 8 that are secured to the top or roof section 9 of the cover, the upper edges of the end sections 8 being curved to conform to the shape of the roof section, the lower edges thereof being scalloped as at 10, to lend a 76 pleasing appearance to the tent.

Extending outwardly from the roof sections 6', at a point intermediate the side edges thereof, are pins 13 that are designed to fit into the openings 14 of the ends of the cover, the openings 14 being reinforced by means of the strips of leather 1 5, to prevent'wear of the cover.

Pins 16 extend outwardly from the frame and are arranged near the upper ends of the corner posts of the frame, where they pass through openings formed in the end portions of the cover,the openings being also reinforced by leather reinforcing strips. Thus it will be seen that due to thisconstruction, the end sections of the cover may be securely held against movement, but at the same time may be readily disassembled. to facilitate storing and transportation of the cover. v

The side walls of the tent are removable, and as shown each side wall is formed of a length of fabric material, reinforced along its upper edge by a rope such as indicated by the reference character 17. Hooks indicated by the reference character 18 are secured to the side wall sections of the tent and are covered with a suitable covering of rubber, so that the hooks may be hooked over the sections of the frame, to secure the side walls in position. It will be seen that due to this construction, the side walls may be readily removed and replaced, so that one side may be removed and the tent used as a chapel tent, protecting the people at the grave, from the elements. 7 r

It will of course be understood that the end sections of the tent are also provided with hooks to hook over certain pipes of the frame, and while I have shown no door, it is to be understood that an opening may be cut in the side or end walls and covered with a suitable flap, to provide a door.

.In order that the scalloped portions of the tent cover will be held securely against flapping,snap fasteners 19 of the head and socket t pe, are provided. Snap hooks indicated by t e reference character 20 are secured to the side walls, and are arranged along the ends thereof, the snap hooks being carried by straps to be assed around the corner posts of the tent rame, to hold the ends of the side walls in position. The lower ends of the side walls are held downwardly, by means of the loops 21 that are secured to the lower edges of the side walls of the tent, the loops being of sizes to fit under the tongues 22 formed on the tent stakes 23.

I claim:

1. In a tent construction, a frame, said frame comprising a roof embodying a horizontal pipe section and a curved pipe section, the horizontal pipe section being connected to the curved pipe section at the ends of the curved pipe section, pins extending forwardly from the frame at the ends of the curved ipe section, a pin extending forwardly om the curved pipe section and disposed at a point intermediate the ends of the curved pipe section, a cover for the frame, said cover embodying end members formed with opening to receive the pins, and straps at the lower edge of the end section and adapted to be secured to the horizontal pipe section to draw the cover taut and prevent the cover and pins from becoming disconnected from each other.

2. In a tent construction, a frame embodying pipe sections, pins extending from the pipe sections, a cover for the frame, said cover having openings into which the pins extend, and straps secured to the cover and passing around a pipe section drawing the cover taut and preventing the cover and pins from becoming disconnected from each other.

3. In a tent construction, a frame comprising a roof embodying spaced upper and lower pipe sections, pins extendin from the pipe sections, a cover for the frame, said cover having openings into which the pins extend, and straps secured to the cover and passing around one of the pipe sections, drawmg the cover taut and preventing the cover and pins from becoming disconnected from each other.

4. In a tent construction, a frame, pins extendin from the frame, a cover for the frame, said cover having openin s into which the pins extend, and means on t lde cover and engagin the frame for drawing the cover taut an preventing the cover and pins from becoming disconnected from each other.
