The present invention relates to a dispensing cap designed particularly for use on collapsible tube containers such as are commonly used in the mercha-ndizing of toothpaste, shaving cream and the like.
The prime object of the invention resides in the provision of a cap which may be threaded on the neck of the tube and manipulated to open or closed position without detaching the cap or any part thereof from the tube.
Another very important object of the invention resides in the provision of a cap of this nature which is exceedingly simple in its construction, inexpensive to manufacture, strong and durable, thoroughly eiicient and reliable in use and operation, easy to manip'- ulate, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
`With the above and numerous other obects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that numeral 5 denotes a collapsible tube container of any preferred construction having the usual dispensing neck 6 externally threaded. Numeral 7 denotes a cylinder internally threaded at one end to engage over the neck 6 and having at its other end an annular groove or pocket 8 extending inwardly from the edge of the cylinder remote from the tube neck 6. Numeral 9 denotes a sleeve slidable and rotatable in the pocket 8 and elevation of a collapsibleY Jformed with; an inverted L-shaped slot 10 having a longitudinal longer section a and a transverse shorter-section b. A pin l1 is positioned in the upper portion of the wall of the cylinder 7 across the pocket 8 through the slot l0.
The upper end of the sleeve 9 is closed by a disk 12 formed thereon and having its edge corrugated so that the sleeve 9 may be easily manipulated. Obviously by pushing the sleeve 9 down into the pocket and rotating the sleeve so,that the pin is disposed in the section b, the cap is in a locked closed position. rl.`hen by rotating the sleeve in the opposite direction said sleeve may be pulled outwardly to the position shown in Figure l and the contents of the tube may be squeezed 'therefrom through the cylinder 47 into the sleeve 9 and out through the slot l0.
lt is thought that the constiuction, operation, utility and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplication since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above de- 7 scription.
Having thus described my invention, what l claim as new is:
Dispensing means for atube containing paste or the like comprising a cylinder connected to the neck ot the ltube and having an annular slotI therein extending from the free end of the cylinder to a point an appreciable distance from the other end of the cylinder, said slot forming an annular pocket, a sleeve having its outer end closed Vand its other end open, said sleeve being slidably and rotatably arranged in the pocket, said sleeve having an E -shaped slot therein, the long arm of which is longitudinally arranged therein and a pin passing through one wall of the cylinder and through the slot in the sleeve whereby the sleeve can be moved outwardly so that a part of the slot will act as n discharge opening for the contents of the tube and by pushing the sleeve inwardly and giving it a turning movement the pin will enter the short arm of the slot to lock the sleeve in closing position in the cylinder.
