This invent-ion relates to a shoe heel protector, and more particularly to a device of this character which is especially adapted for use on high heeled shoes worn by women '5 when driving an automobile and has for one of its important objects to provide, in a inanner as hereinafter set forth, a shoe heel protector embodying a `novel construction and arrangement of parts whereby the same may be expeditiously mounted in position on a shoe or removed therefrom, the construction of the device being such as to retain itself in proper position onthe shoe against accidental displacementor disarrangement without the necessity of extraneous securing means.

Other objects of the invention are to provide a heel protector of the character described which will be simple in construction, strong, durable, efficient and reliable in use,

attractive in appearance and which may be manufactured at'low cost.l

All of the foregoing and still further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from a study of the following specification, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and wherein Figure 1 is a view in side elevation showing a protector in accordance with this 1nvention mounted in position on a shoe.

Referring to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the reference numeral 1 designates generally a resilient, metallic frame comprising a horizontally disposed, substantially U-shaped portion 2 and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined substantially U- shaped portion 3, the U-shaped portions 2 and 3 being integrally connected at their forward or open ends with each other. The plies 9 and l0 of the cover 8 are stitched together adjacent the marginal edges of the frame 1 and the elements 4 to 7, inclusive, as indicated at l1. It is believed that the many advantages of a shoe'heel protector constructed in accordance with' this invention will be readily understood, and although the preferred embodiment of the invention is -as illustrated and described, it'is to be understood that changes in the details of construction may be had which will fall within the sco tion as claimed.

A shoe heel protector comprising a resilient frame including a substantially horizontally disposed substantially U-shaped portion and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined substantially U-shaped portion, said substantially U shaped portions being formed integral with each other at their open ends, extensions projecting from the connected ends of the substantially U-shaped portions, said extensions terminating in outwardly and rearwardly directedy hook portions, and a cover enclosing the frame, the extensions and the hooks, saidv cover comprising inner and outer plies of flexible ma terial extending over the inner and outer sides of the frame, the extensions and the hooks and. extending between the substantially U-shaped portionsV of the frame, the inner and outer plies being stitched together adjacent the edges of the frame, the extensions and the hooks.

A shoe heel'protector comprising a resilient frame including a horizontally disposed, substantially U-shaped portion and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined substantially U-shaped portion, said substantially U-shaped portions being connected integrally with each other at their open ends, an arm depending from the bight portion of the horizontally disposed U-shaped portion of the frame, a foot portion projecting forwardly-from the lower e-nd of the arm and engageable beneath the heel of the shoe, and a cover enclosing the frame, the arm and the foot portion.

A shoe heel-protector comprising a resilient frame including a horizontally disposed, substantially U-shaped portion and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined substantially U-shaped portion, said substantially U-shaped portionsbeing connected integrally with eachother at their` open ends, an arm depending from the bight portion of the horizontally disposed U-shaped portion of the frame, a foot portion projecting forwardly from the lower end of the arm and engageable beneath the heel of the shoe, and a cover enclosing the frame, the arm and the foot portion, said cover comprising inner and outer plies of flexible material extendextensions projecting from the connected ends of the substantially U-shaped portions, outwardly and rearwardly directed hooks on the extensions, an arm depending from the bight portion of the horizontally disposed substantially U-shaped portion of' the frame, a forwardly projecting foot portion on the lower end of the arm, and a cover enclosing the frame, the extensions, the hooks, the arm and the foot portion.

A slice heel protector comprising a resilient frame including a horizontally disposed, substantially U-shaped portion and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined substantially U-shaped portion, said substantially U-shaped portions being integrally connected with each other at their open ends, extensions projecting from the connected ends of the substantially U-shaped portions, outwardly and rearwardly directed hooks on the extensions, an arm depending from the bight portion of the horizontally disposed substantially U-shaped portion .ofv the frame, ay forwardly projecting foot portionV on the lower end of the arm, and a cover enclosing the frame, the extensions, the hooks, the arm and the foot portion, said cover including inner and outer plies of flexible material disposed on opposite sides of the frame, the
