This invention appertainsnto means for removing loose fibres, motes and dust from the warp threads of a loom. and provides a loom with a suction device located upon the frame of the 100111, sucn suction device being maintained below the warp threads and ad justable upon the frame of the loom between the harness and the roller over which the warp threads pass.
The device comprising my invention consists of the transverse trough with side extensions, the trough being connected with suction means which will gather such substances as may be removed from the warp threads to a receptacle in order to prevent diffusion thereof about the loom.
In the accompanying drawings which illustrate one form of my invention,-
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a portion of the loom with my invention applied thereto; and
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a portion of my invention, showing means for con- 4 nect-ing the trough wth a suction device.
My invention provides means whereby a transverse structure is adjustably supported by the frame of the loom, such device being located to be adjustably maintained beneath the warp threads on their travel from the warp beam over the guide roller and from thence above the suction device to the loom harness.
Referring to the drawings,
The mouthpiece a has on its long sides two catch flaps Z). By means of the suspension rail or yoke c fastened on its front side. it is, free to move in the longitudinal direction of the warp-threads. It is convenient to mount it below the warp-threads l1 between the mounting a and the cloth-beam r Reference letter [L denotes the healds, i the heald eyes and is the warp-threads. The suction pipe m is fitted at the bottom of the mouthpiece and discharges into the sleeve-like receptacle 0 arranged at the side of the loom. IVithin this receptacle 0 are the exhauster (1 and the dust-bag 1.
The fluff dust is caught by the mouthpiece cquipped with the arresting flaps and, by means of the exhauster which is operated in ordinary known manner. the dust is drawn through the suction-pipe or pipes into the dust-bag. The installation may also be fitted behind the mounting and in this case both mouthpieces are connected with each other by channels so as to remove also fabric waste Y arising from the cutting of the woven fabric.
The warp threads by means of my invention are subjected to a down draft of air in duced by a suitable suction device which will remove all fluff, loose fibres and other loose particles from the warp threads and convey them downward into a bag or receptacle which can be removed to do away with its wastes without any liability of its being dis- 6o tributed in the loom room.
I claim:
1. In combination with a loom, a trans verse trough supported thereby and provided with side extensions, the same being main: tained below the warp threads so that said threads will overlie the trough and its extensions, and suction means connected with the trough.
2. In means substantially as set forth in 7 claim 1 when associated with a receptacle for loose fibres and other loose particles removed from the warp threads.
3. In a device as specified in claim 1, with means for removing and collecting loose fibres from warp threads maintained between a guide roll and a harness of a loom, with a receptacle for the material removed from the warp threads in their travel over the suction device.
HEINRICH HILKER.
