Description

Patented Jan. 26, 1932 ,KINSUKE 'KISI-IIDA, OF \VAKAYAMASHI, JAPAN PROCESS FOR IDENTIFYING THE CONTENTS OF BOTTLES No Drawing. Application filed July 9, 1928, Serial No. 291,498, and in Japan January 16, 1928.
This invention is an improved process of labelling and decorating a bottle of transparent material, the object of the invention being to provide an improved process by means of which a pattern of any desirable kind or design may be permanently placed on the inner surface of the wall of a bottle so that the pattern alone will be visible through the wall and will not appear to be on a label,
as hereinafter described and claimed.
In carrying out my improved process and in order to label or decorate a bottle of transparent material, I provide a viscose or like transparent and flexible film with a suitable pattern or design on one of its surfaces, which pattern or design may be printed, written, dyed, photographed or otherwise placed thereon, the pattern being produced in any suitable material which is insoluble in the designed content of the bottle.
The pattern film thus produced is placed in the bottle through the mouth thereof and is caused to adhere to the inner surface of the wall of the bottle, so that the pattern alone will be seen through the transparent wall, the film on which the pattern is disposed being itself transparent and hence not visible, the effect being that the pattern will appear to be floating in the interior of the bottle.
The pattern may be produced on the film simply with coloring matter, or by adhering decorative material to the film, said coloring matter and decorating material being each insoluble in the liquid content of the bottle. In certain instances a film provided with a pattern as described may be attached to another, blank, film, with the interposition of the pattern between the films, or the pattern may be covered over with some suitable vehicle which is insoluble in the liquid of the bottle.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
The herein described process of labelling
