Another object ofV the invention is to p rovide an improved belt buckle of the type indicated with means permitting the ready insertion and removal of the photograph, when desired. n

In the drawings wherein similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views of the preferred form of my invention, A designates a belt which may be of conventional design, to which the belt buckle which forms the object of my invention is secured.

The belt buckle B comprises a miniature frame 11 formed of a sheet of metal and having an opening or window 12, the opening being closed by a sheet of transparentmaterial, such as isinglass 13, which serves as a protection for a miniature photograph or snapshot 14, the latter being received iii a countersunk portion 15 of a plate 15'. The overlapping edges 16 of the frame 11 are clampingly engaged with the plate 15 thereby serving to retain the latter and consequently the photograph or picture'and the The manner of securing my belt buckle to the belt, is best shown in Fig. 2 wherein the leather thong 17 of the belt A is I passed through a yoke member 18 having ears 19 retained in sockets 20 integrally formed in the` bent over flanges 21, 22 of the face plate 11, the-end of the thong 17 being provided with the usual snap fasteners 23, 24 which provide a means of readily permitting the disengagement of the buckle when desired.

In Figs. 6 and 7 I have illustrated a modiied form of my invention. The belt buckle C illustrated in Figs. 6 and 7 comprisesa frame 25 having an opening or window 26 closed by a sheet of transparent material 27 behind which a photograph maybe placed and secured by the removable plate 28, the latter having a countersunk portion 28 to receive aphotograph or picture, similar to that shown in Fig. 5. through which a pintle 30 is passed, the latter also passing through ears 31 providedonlongitudinally extending strips 32, these strips, as shown in Figs. 6 and 7 clampingly engaging the plate 28. Springs 33,34 attached to the pintle 30 have projecting ends which impinge against the strips 32, in

this manner a resilient pressing action being maintained on the strips which will serve to securely .maintain the plate 28 and consequently the miniature vphotograph Vin the frame. To remove the photograph in the sea modified form of the invention, as shown in of construction save to the extent these are circumscribed within the limits of the appended claim.
