Although I have shown only one end of a loom in the drawings, and this end is the end in which the roll of warp is mounted, it

Referring more particularly to the drawings the numeral 1() indicates the frame work of a loom proper, and the numeral 11 indicates the beam which is adapted to be placed into the loom, said beam having the gear 12 thereon, which ris adapted to be driven by the `pinion 18 which is shown in dotted lines together with the take-up mechanism 14; and the dog 15. .These parts are 4conventional in` loom structures, thread 16 passing from the beam over the roller 17 and into the loom.
My beam rest has thefportion 18 which is adapted to be secured to the side of a loom at each end thereof by means of a bolt 19 passing through the slot 20, said slot 20 permitting vertical adjustment of the beam rest to ktake care` of various sizes of, beamsand the gears thereon so as to cause `the gear to mesh with lthe pinion 13. This portion 18 has the bearing` portion 21 and the rest portion. 22, the portion 22 being adapted to receive the journal of the vbeam kbefore the same is placed into the bearing portion, anda'ct as a rest for the beam before it is secured in the beam rest or beam lock. Thisv portion 18 has bosses such as indicated by the reference character 23 tocause the portion 18 to be firmly secured to the end portion of the loom at each side thereof. I have shown only one side of the loom but it is understood that the other side of the loom Will be equipped with a similar device made in a reversed direction. The portion 18 has the projecting portion on Which is pivotally secured the cam 26 by means of the bolt 27 which has the nut 28 thereon, and the lock Washer 29 by means of which the cam 26 can be secured in position to hold the movable portion 31 in position. The member 18 has the projecting portion in which is secured the bolt33 andthe portion 31 has theelongated slot- 34m-to Wllih the bolt 33 is adapted to iit, thus permitting vthe portion 31 to be slid to the dotted line -posi;- tion as shown in Figure'2 when itis desired to remove or install thelbeam *from the beam support bearing 21.
