For this purpose the middle partition of the knife is made in a single piece of cast or wrought steel, and the head of the said wrench is disposed at one end. In this manner not only the middle partition but also the whole knife forms the handle of the monkey wrench and does not cause an increase of the thickness of the knife.
The appended drawings show by way of example an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of the knife.
Fig. 2 is the corresponding side View.
The said knife is constructed in the known manner bv two outer plates 1 and a middle plate 2 which are connected together by rivets 3-4-56 with the interposition of the spacing members 7. r
The rivet 3 also serves as the pivot axle for a knife blade 8 and a screwdriver 9, for instance, and the rivet 4 serves as an axle for a cork-screw 10 and a punch 11. The middle plate 2, consisting of cast or wrought steel, is formed in one with the main body of a monkey wrench 12 which is operated by making use of the knife handle. In order that the plate of the monkey wrench presents the maximum of solidity the shoulder 13 of the monkey wrench will be preferably caused to bear against the spacing members 7 and will be suitably cut out for this purpose. The said device thus forms a very portable outfit which will be of great service to users of bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, or to other persons, who are thus provided,'witl1- out opening a tool bag or box, with the principal tools for making small repairs.
Neither the size nor the weight of the knife are appreciably increased, and it can be readily carried in the pocket.
Obviously. the invention is not limited to the aforesaid form of construction which is given by way of example, and in particular, the number and character of the tools disposed in the knife may be as desired.
