Description

Patented June 16, 1931 l 1 10 7 UN IT E GURT' Hansen, or FOBS'I, GERMANY STIFFENING FABRIC FOR WEARING APPAREL No Drawing. Application. filed June 28, 1928, Serial No; 289,084, and in Germany September 5, 1927. v

The object of the invention is to produce a fabric having durable stiffening qualities and being equally elastic in all directions, andthe invention consists in interspersing the Warp as Well as the Weft threads uniformly in equal fashion Which stiffening threads in the form 10 of natural or artificial horsehair overspun in krlliovvn manner With cotton, silk, linen or the li e.
The number of such horsehair threads employed depends on the required stiffening ef feet.
The other Warp and Weft threads employed may belinen or woolenor composed of animal fibres of Various kinds chosen With a view to obtain very fine variations in the degree of flexibility.
The kind of Weaving employed is immaterial. Ordinary plain cloth Weave is sufficient for most purposes, but ground or other weaves may be employed if required.
I claim:
1. For use in Wearing apparel, a stiffening interlining comprising a ground fabric of hair yarn equally stiff and elastic in Warp as Well as in Weft, modified by a replacement of threads, in equal and definite spacing in Warp as Well as in Weft, by threads of other kinds.
2. For use in Wearing apparel, a stiifening interlining comprising a ground fabric of hair yarn equally stiff and elastic in Warp as Well as in Weft, modified by a replacement of threads, in equal and definite spacing in Warp as Well as in Weft, by stiffening threads in the form of horse-hair overspun with other material. A
40 3. For usein Wearing apparel, a stiffening interlining comprising a ground fabric of hair yarn equally stiff and elastic in Warp as Well as in Weft, modified by a replacement of threads, in equal and definite spacing in Warp I as Well as in Weft, by threads of less stiffness and rigidity than the hair yarn. p
