1d Figure 5 This. invention relates to improvements in quick detachable cord fasteners and has for the primary object, the provision of a device of the above stated character whereby a wrapping or securing cord for packages and like articles may be easily and quickly secured about the package without forming,

or tying knots in the cord and which will permit the cord to be easily and quickly re- 19 moved with the cord and. fastener ready for further use, thereby providing a large saving in wrapping cord over the now customary practice employed on packages wherein the cord is tied in various ways and to remove the latter from a packageand rendering the cord unfit for further use.

Another object of this invention is the provision of' a cord fastener of the above stated character which will be simple, durable and efiicient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.

With these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

The body 1 is placed against one face of the package to be wrapped and the cord is first extended about thepaokage in the direction indicated by the arrows in Figure 1, this positions one runof the cord in the groove 6 and through the groove 5 bearing against the rounded end 9 ofthe portion 8 where said run of the cord extends again about the package and enters the groove 5 as shown; I
