. Some flour bearing stocks are in moisture content and of very fine granulation and therefore most difficult to bolt. The cleaner projection may be extended or lengthened to project farther through the aper tures in the sieve bottom and thus intensify the tapping or jarring ofthe bolting fabric, and thus the perfect bolting control of variable stock conditions is obtained.
The rounded bottom of said'body facilitates inclining the upper surface soflthat it doesnothit flat against the sieve bottom but inclinedly with a swinging kick. Thusa double kick is given asthe upper surface of the body hits the fabric, and the fluted surface with sharp contact edges shown in Fig. 3 promotes the sitting of the'fiourthrough the fabric. 'The longitudinal grooveshown in. the uppersurface prevents the clinched ends. of the prongs of shank holding the knob 17 to the roundedbottom, from contact with the fabric. Furthermore, the depthof this rounded projection controls the force of its jump whenthe edge of the aperture strikes it a lesser projectionthanthat shown makes J the body kick with .less force against the fabric, while a deeper .taper on said .projectioncauses it to hit harder. Thus I can-substitute a projection that is suitable to the material being bolted.
-Having now described my invention, that which I claim to be new and desire to protect by Letters Patent, .is
1. bolting sieve cleaner comprising a felted body having a substantially semi-cylin drical bottom, and a tapering-metallicknobbody, substantially as described.
2. A boltingsieve cleaner comprising a felted body having a substantially semicylindrical bottom and a central longitudinal groove in the top and a rounded metallic projection on said body having vertical prongs extending upward and clinched in said groovefsubstantially as described.
3. A bolting sieve cleaner comprising a felted body having a substantially semicylindrical bottom andfiuted top .withalonitudinal groove and a rounded metallic proection having a shank extending upward into said .grooveand secured therein, substantially as described. I
4. In avibratory sieve .for sifting machines, the combination with asuitable frame forming an interposedspace .betweena boltsieve top comprising albody of substantially lesser height than and loosely disposed in said-space and having a rounded projection secured to the bottom of said body of a size substantially lessthan the size of said apertures .for allowing initial lateral movement therein, substantially as described.
6. Ina sieve for sifting. machines, the combination with a boltingsieve top anda bottom having multiple apertures for passage of boltedmaterial, of a cleaner for said sieve top comprising a felted body of substantially lesser height than the interposed space between the sieve top and bottomand having arounded bottom and loosely disposed in said space, and .a rounded metallic projection secured to'the roundedbottom of said body and of substantially halfthe size of the apertures in said .bottom adapted to kick said body against thesieve top :in its movement from one aperture to'another,successively, substantially as described.
7. Ina sieve .for sifting machines, the combination with a bolting sieve top and a bot- ;tom having multiple apertures for the pas sage ofbolted material, of acleaner for said sieve top comprising asemicylindrical felted body movably. disposed'on saidbottom and of substantially lesserheight than the space between said sieve top and bottom and having 3 .a metallic rounded projectionsecured to the .roundedbottom of saidbody andof substantially halt the size of said apertures adapted :to retard the lateral movement of saidbody,
