The combination with a mountingmember, of a collapsible bench comprising a seat member, a pair of support members pivotally mounted at the ends of the seat member and a link between the support members and pivotally connected at its ends to one each of the f support members whereby the support members and link may be collapsed relative the seat for positioningthe supports and link in `substantial parallelism with one another and adjacent to and in substantial parallelism with the seat, the said hinged connections adapted to permit movement ofthe Y support members to substantially perpendicular positions relative the seat and link, and means for mounting` the bench on the mounting member for vertical movement of the benchrelative the mounting member when collapsing .and extending the bench relative the mounting member, Ywhereby the bench is raised relative the mounting member when thebench is moved to collapsed postion, and whereby the bench is lowered relative the *mounting member when moved to extended position and wherebj7 the seat in extended position is supported solely-by the support members and the mountingV member is relieved of all weight disposed upon the extende'dvbench.
