Vhen an occupant sits down at the counter', the seat is rotated against the tension of the spring, whereby the seat is positioned normally before the counter. The purpose of the seat return construction is to provide p lo means whereby seats such as kare commonly used at counters will assume a predetermined position when not occupied. In other Words, the seats are automatically' aligned as soon as they are unoccupied. In addition to this, 15 the seat is positioned soV that it is a relatively easy matter for an occupant to Walk up to the seat, swing it slightly, and to position the seat normally With respect to the counter.
