The main object of this invention is to providea holder which is to form an accessory to a paint brush, and Lthis holder serves the purpose Vof suspending the paint brush from the upper edges yof the rim of a paint pail or some other suitablecontainerA so that the paint brush may be conveniently'atthand t at all times, in such position that it will notsmut iloors, walls or the like. y
Another object of this invention is to provide a holder for paint brushes which holder is capable of being adjusted to fit various sizes of paint'bru'shes. a
The above and other objects will become apparent in the description below, in which like Vcharacters of reference refer to likenamed parts in the drawing.
Referring briefly to the drawing, Figure l is a front elevational view of a paint brush, showing the holder attached inplace thereon.

Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 10 indicates the body of a paint brush. The body 10 is usually surmounted by a handle such as that indicated by the numeialV 11. Bristles 12 areimbedded in the body 10 in a suitable fashion and complete the paint brush. The holder is adapted to b e wrapped about the body 10 in a secureposition thereon, and the holder comprises a pair lof complemental hookjineinbers 13 and 14 whichare semi-circular in outline and bound the ends of the. body `10 of the `paint brush. vThe hook member 13 has a tongue 15 extend-v ing therefrom in which `a-'longitudinal slot 16 is formed. This hook member 13 is also p rovided with a saddle '17 capable of receiving a rim of a paint pail therein. The comple.-
The holder is adapted to be applicable to various sizes of paint brushes within predetermined limits. The complemental hook members 13 and 14 are separated from each `other when afHXing the holder to the paintV brush member, or they may be loosely coupled to each other asshown in Figure 3. It is to be noted that certain changes in form and construction may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

A holder comprising a pair of adjacently coupled hook members adapted to engage a paint brush or the like,`and saddles on said hook 'members for suspending said holderand brush from the rim` of a paint pail or the like, tongues unitary with said hook members, said tongues being slidable one adjacent the other, and means for lock v ing said tongues in adjustedpositions. v
