IMPROVEMENT m BUTTON-BOOTS.-
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177,171, dated May 9, 1876; application filed I February 21, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, OHRIsroPH STICKEL, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in High-Out Button-Boots, of whichthe following is a specification Figure 1 is a perspective view of a buttonboot, illustrating my invention, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the pattern.

The invention consists in the pattern constructed as hereinafter described.
A is the vamp. B are the quarters. O is the button-piece, and D is one part or side of the leg. All these parts are cut in one piece, as shown in Fig. 2. E is the other part of the leg, which is cut in one piece by itself, and its rear edge is sewed to the rear edge of the first pnrt D of the leg, its lower edge is sewed to the upper edge of the quarter, and its for-ward edge to the edge of the button-piece O, the said piece thus entering the slit shown in Fig. 2,between the quarter and button piece.
With this construction there will be no seam upon the top of the foot, and upon the heel where the most of the wear from a dress or pantaloon-leg comes, so that it will not rip,- and at the same time a neatly-fitting, stylish employment of only a half-seam behind.
It will be seen by reference to Fig. 2 of drawing that according to my plan the pattern has a slot, F, between parts G D and also one, G, between parts B G.
What I claim is v The pattern, consisting of vamp A,'quarter B, button-piece O, and leg-piece of one piece, and provided with the slots F G and the legpiece E, adapted to be united thereto, to form a button-boot, substantially as specified.
