SUPPORT Filed April 2'7, 1929 Invert tor I flzwaoiih Attorney Fatenteol July 1, 1930 WILLIAM S. MYERS, OE WESTMORELAND, KANSAS SUPPORT Application filed April 27,
The present invention appert-ains to new and useful improvements in supports, and more particularly to a simple device for supporting spoons and like utensils for a receptacle.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a novel spoon holder for, dishes.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a spoon holder which can be manufactured and sold at a price well within the economic demand of the public.
These and other important objects of the invention will be apparent to the reader after considering the invention as described and cl imed hereinafter.
In the drawing Figure 1 represents a top plan view of a dish with the novel spoon holder attached thereto.
Fig. 2 represents a perspective view of the novel spoon holder.
Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it will be seen that the invention embodies the spoon holder generally referred to by the numeral 5 and clearly shown in Fig. 2. This spoon holder is constructed of a single strip of sheet metal preferably of a springy nature. The strip of metal is bent at its intermediate portion 6 and assumes the parallel disposition designated by numeral 7.
()ne end portion of the strip is bent backwardly as at 8 and outwardly at its extremity as at 9, to provide a guideway 10 into which the edge portion of the dish may engage.
The opposite end portion of the strip is bifurcated to provide the pair of upstanding legs 11-11, the upper extremities of the legs being disposed in diverged relation and the legs at the crotch portions are offset in opposite directions in the manner shown at it will thus be seen that by engaging the portion 8 over the edge portion of a dish or in fact a sauce-pan or like receptacle designated by the numeral A in Fig. 1, the same will be in position for supporting a spoon B in the manner shown in Fig. 1. i
It will thus be seen that the present invention is of a simple nature, and although the 1929. Serial No. 358,597.
same has been specifically described hereinbefore, various changes in the shape, size, and materials may be resortedto Without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as described and claimed hereinafter.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is p A spoon holder for receptacles comprising a strip of material bent at its intermediacy and disposed in parallelism, one end portion of the strip being bent backwardly to provide a spring clasp, the opposite end of the strip being bifurcated to provide a pair of spring legs, said legs being offset for disposition on parallel spaced vertical planes between which the usual curved neck portion of a spoon or similar utensil may be tensionally supported.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
WILLIAM S. MYERS.
