My invention relates to. an improved mounting for a w1ndow screen. The OlOJGOt is'to provide asimple', inexpensive mounting of the character described, adapted to 5 be quickly and easily operated to fasten.
the screen in place or to release the screen from 1ts support; so constructed as to permit pivotal movement of the. screen about its supports; and so built and'arrangedas to securely hold thescreen in place-against accidental release or displacement.
Other objects and advantages of my improvement will more fully appear from the following description of the invention shown in the accompanying drawing and defined in the appended claim.
In the drawings:- 1 Fig. 1 is a side elevation of a window frame provided with a screen fitted with my improved hangers."
Fig. 2 is a fragmentary perspective of the of my invention isto provide hangers adapted to accomplish this, end which are not only easily'and quickly fastened in place and released but which securely hold the screen in place against any accidental displacement due to jar, shock or dislocation thereof.
In the drawing a window frame is shown having side frame members 10. These side relates to the employed.
I provide a 1 1 and an upright car 16. Ashere shown the base plate is secured to the top rail of the screen by screws 20 or in any otherv construction of the hangers so pair of hangers secured to the toprail of a screen 18 at opposite sides thereof as shown in the figures of the drawing. Each hanger comprises a base plate simple manner.
The ear of a'vertical slot 22 adapted to be received over each hanger is provided withv the pivot pin 12 positioned on the same side of the window as the hanger. V has a slot wh One hanger 1ch 1s closed such as is shown in Fig. 2 of the drawing and which is ;re- 1 ceived over the pivot pin. 12 only by a sidewisemovement of the screen.- The other hanger is provided with a slot which hasv an outlet to the inneredge of the hanger in the form of a downwardly diagonally extending slot 24- which cuts into the slot 22 substantially midway its height.
This second hanger is adapted to bemounted upon its pivot pin by a longitudi -r nal lateral, movement of the screen 'so that l the pivot pin is received, w
passesthrough the s'lot'i24: and ithin the slot 22. It will be seen that due to the fact that the slot 24 interrupts the slot 22 at a midpointand also extends diagonally toward the inner edge of the hanger that such hanger will not become easily What Icla A. screenloosened from 1m1s:. a hanger comprisinga base adapted to be secured to a screen and'having a perpendicular ear on one side provided witha vertical slot terminating at "its lower end at the base and a diagonal slot extendthe pivot pin.
