This invention relates to an improved bill and card case, and has for its primary object and'purpose to provide a simply constructed and inexpensive case of this kind which is 6 capable of receiving and securely retaining a comparatively large number of bills, cards and other papers without becoming objectionably bulky. 1

It is amore particular object of theinvention to provide a bill and card case specially designed for the purpose of containing the new'small-sized currency shortly to'be issued, and having outer body walls formed from a single sheet of flexible material such as leather, and inner walls associated with each of said outer body walls to form billreceiving pockets, said inner and outer walls being secured together along one end of the case and the inner walls secured only to the 2 respective outer walls at the opposite end of the case, the latter end and one longitudinal edge of the case being open to thereby provide a pocket between said inner wall adapted to receive papers, bills, memoranda and the like.

It is another feature ofmy invention to provide one of the bill receiving pockets of the case upon the inner wall thereof with additional card receiving pockets, and for this purpose, I preferably provide the walls of said card receiving pockets as integral extensions of the inner wall of the other or opposite bill receiving pocket of the'case.

Referring in detail to the drawing, the outer side walls, of the case indicated at 5 are formed from a single sheet of leather or other flexible material of proper predetermined size and shape which is folded upon itself as shown at 6 to provide the closed longitudinal edge of the case. This leather sheet is reinforced on one side with a suitable lining material 7 such assilk, cotton or the like, the marginal edges of the leather sheet 5 being inwardly turned over the edges of the lining sheet'and stitched or otherwise permanently secured thereto as shown at 8; I i

Upon the inner side of the flexible body walls of the case there is arranged a fabric sheet of silk or other material having a part 9 opposed to one of the side walls of the case i and in conjunction therewith forming abill receiving pocket. One side of this fabric sheethas a reinforcing sheet 10 of fabric or other material adhesively secured thereto, a part of said reinforcing material being removed as shown at '11, at which point the fabric sheet 9 is folded, such folds coinciding with the fold 6 between the side or body walls 5 of the case. Between this reinforced side of the fabric sheet 9 and one side wall 5 of the case, a fabric wall 12 is positioned. This fabric sheet 12 also has a suitable reinforcing material on the side thereof opposed to the body wall 5 of the case, and in conjunction with the latter, forms a second bill reeeiving pocket. The wall 12, and the opposed part of the wall 9 indicated at 9' are stitched together along spaced lines as at 13 to form the card receiving pockets 14. It will be noted that the edge 15 of the part 9 termiso nates inwardly of the outer longitudinal edge of the wall 12. Thus the two folded parts of the fabric sheet 9 form pocket walls of relatively different depths, the wider section of the reinforced'fabric sheet 9'in con- 95 junct-ion with one side wall 5 of the case forming the bill receiving pocket 16 wh le the opposite side wall of the case and the fabric wall 12 form the second bill receiving pocket 17. walls at one end of the case, are permanently stitched together along the line 18 while at the other end of the case, the part 9 and the part 12 are secured to one of the side walls 5 and the other part of the fabric wall 9 is secured to the other side wall 5 of the case by the stitching indicated at 19. Thus the bill receiving pockets at this end of the case are also closed while said pockets are open along the unconnected longitudinal edges of the case walls 5. Alsothe space between the inner fabric wall 9 of one of the bill receiving pockets and the walls of the card receiv ing pockets 14 provides an additional pocket 20 in which other bills, papers or memonada may be placed.

From the above description, the construction of my improved bill and card case will be clearly understood. By removing the reinforcing material from the pocket forming sheet 9 or omitting the same at the fold 11, undue bulkiness of the case along the closed edge 6 thereof, is obviated. Also it will'be apparent that by reason thereof, the inner pocket forming walls may readily flex or ex pand so that even when the'case may be filled with bills to the approximate capacity there of, the case will not be excessively bulky so that item be easily carried in the pocket without annoyance to the user or bulging of the coat pocket. I have herein shown and described an embodiment of the'invention which I have found to be very desirable in practical use. Of course, it will be understoodthat the edges of the case walls may be provided .with ornamental binding strips of gold, silver or other metals, or such ornamental metal. embellishments may be applied at the corners of the case Walls as illustrated at 21.

It will be apparent that a case of this construction is exceedingly simple and may be produced at very low manufacturing cost. At the same time, it is very durable and serviceable in construction. It is understood of course, that the device might be also produced in various other forms and sizes, and that the detail structural features thereof as herein referred to might likewise be embodied in various other alternative forms. Accordingly, the privilege is reserved of resorting to all such legitimate changes therein as 'may be fairly embodied within the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed. v

I claim:

1. A case of the character described comtherewith to form two bills receiving pockets,

the inner and outer walls of the respective pockets of one end ofthe case being secured together, andsaid pocket walls ofeach' side of the case being permanently secured to each other at the opposite end of the case, said bill receiving pockets being open along one longitudinal edge of the ease and the opposite side walls of the case being unconnected along the other end edge of the case or to provide an additional pocket for the reception of pa pers, bills and memoranda.

2. A bill and card case comprising outer side walls formed from a single sheet of flexible material folded on itself, said side walls being permanently secured together along one end edge of the case, an inner fabric wall associated with each side wall of the case to form a bill receiving pocket and secured tothe opposite end edges of said side wall, one of said inner pocket forming walls being extended upon the other of said inner pocket forming walls and secured thereto at spaced points to provide card'receiving pocketsv on the latter wall, said bill and cardreceiving pockets being open along one longitudinal edge of the case, and the side walls ofthe case being unconnected along the other end edge thereof to provide an additional pocket for the reception of bills, memoranda and the like.

A bill and card case comprising outer side walls of equal area formed from a single sheet of fiexiblematerial folded on itself, a reinforced fabric sheet opposed to the inner side of one of said outer; side walls to form a bill receiving pocket in conjunction therewith, a second fabric sheet between said first named fabric sheet and the opposite outer side wall of the case folded upon itself to provide sections of unequal area, each of said sections having a reinforcing material secured on one side thereof, and the fold of the fabric material being Lin-reinforced, the narrower section of said'folded fabric sheet being secured'at spaced points upon the inner wall of said'bill receiving pockets to provide a plurality of card receivingpockets thereon, and the wider section of said fabric sheet'in conjunction with the other outer side wallof the case forming a second bill receiving pocket,thecorresponding ends of said pocket forming fabric sheets and the outer side walls of the case being permanently secured there to to close the case at one of its ends, and the other ends of the inner walls of the respective bill receiving pockets beingsecure d to the corresponding outer side walls of the case.
