The present invention relates to radiator attachments for boilers, such as for instance locomotive or stationary boilers and has for an object toprovide a connection with the steam compartment ofthe boiler for supplying steam to a radiator which maybe remotely disposed with respect to theboiler and thus enable a utilization ofthe heat gen erated thereby 'for heating the radiators.
A further object of the invention is to provide a reservoir for collecting the water i condensed by the cooling of the steam as the same is fed into the radiator and ar-' ranging the reservoir in a suitable position with respect to the firebox of the boiler whereby to heat the water contained therein for the purpose of regenerating steam therefrom and again feedingthe same back into is arrangedfthe water compartment '6 having I fire tubes .7 extending therethrough communicatingat one end with'the firebox and with their-opposite ends leading into the' 'smoke end of whichthe: stack-n55 *Qismounted I v v v :Atthe top of the"watercompartment is 7 arranged a steam dome lO'havinga pressure relief valve 11 providedtherein and-also having a feedpipe 12 connected therewith?v box 8 at the upper and communicating with a shallow container 13 disposed horizontally above'thefireb'o'x 5 and immediatelybene'ath'the crown sheet .14:
1fiorirning the upper outer casing ofthe The container 13 is provided With a transversely extendingpartition 15 separating the same intoseparate compartments indicated Control valves 21 may be interposed in each of the pipes 12, 18 and 20 whereby to regulate the circulation of steam therethrough.
It is obvious that the invention is susceptible of various changes and modification, without departing from the spirit. or scope of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages, and I accordingly claim all such forms of the device to which I am entitled.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
In combination, a steam boiler provided with a steam dome, a relatively shallow container horizontally disposed above the fire- V boxof the boiler, a partition arranged transversely of the container dividing the same v into a pair ofcompartments, a feed pipe affording communication between one of said compartments and said steam dome, a radiator remotely disposed with respect to and above the plane of the container, a feed pipe connecting the upper portion of the radiator at oneend with said first named compartment and a pipe communicating With the opposite end of the radiator and connected with said other compartment.
In testimony whereof I 'aifix my signature.
STEPHEN BALDYZAR.
