Description

Filed March 15, 1929 Inventor I A Attorney Patented June 3, 1930 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE .ror-nv norm, or cmormmrr, onro ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE CONNECTION Application filed March 13, 1929. Serial No. 346,649.
socket, and providing the bulb with an im-.
proved and individual type of plug or connector which is characterized by a cap carrying a plurality'of circumferentially spaced resilient retaining devices which may be snapped into the socket or easily withdrawn therefrom, whereby" to efiect a dependable, yet more convenient type of connection.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is an elevational view of a bulb equipped with a connecting device in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is a vertical sectional view through the improved connector per se.
Figure 3 is a horizontal section taken approximately upon the plane of the line 3-3 of Figure 1, with the bulb removed.
Figure 4 is a fragmentary sectional an elevational view, showing the manner in which the improved bulb connecting device cooperates with the conventional screw socket.
In carrying out the invention I provide a metallic cap 5. This slips over the neck of the bulb and is suitably attached thereto in any,
to be bodily snapped into the conventional socket 10, as shown in Figure 4. The simplicity of the invention is such as to make it unnecessary to consider the invention in greater detail. "Therefore a more lengthy description is regarded unnecessary. Minor changes in the shape, size and re-. arrangement of details coming within the field of invention claimed, may be resorted to in actual practice, if desired.
I claim: 1. As a new article of manufacture, an appliance connector comprising a cap-like body provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced longitudinally bowed retaining springs, said body being formed with inward- 1y curved grooves cooperating with said sprin s. y
2. is a new product of manufacture, an appliance connector comprising a cap including a rim portion having circumferentially spaced inwardly depressed grooves, and an outwardly bowed fiat retaining spring associated with each groove, the spring being firmly anchored at one end and having the opposite end freely slidable in the corresponding end of the groove, the intermediate portion of the spring being formed with an outstanding-retaining projection.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
J OHN HUBER.
