My said invention relates to improvements in tire repair devices of the type employing a wire helix designed to be engaged with the stem of a rubber plug.
The present invention is aimed to provide a construction which may be made with a helix of lighter wire which facilitates the insertion of the stem of the plug, and which will be guarded in such a way that its coils will not be subjected to strain when passed through the wall of the tire. To this end, the invention comprises the novel construction hereinafter described and defined by the appended claim.

When the head of the plug has been properly seated against the inside of the tire, the sheath may be withdrawn and the helix disengaged from the plug.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
Means for repairing a tire puncture comprising a needle having at one end an open helix, a tubular sheath removably inclosing said helix, and means for limiting the movement of the sheath on the needle in the direction of the helix.
