The present invention relates to a camp-`V CAMPING INSTALLATION v ing apparatus which for transport can be Jfolded' up into4 the form of a case of relatively reduced dimensions and'which when opened out'Y for' use is ofsullicient size to contain a bed aswell as various furniture accessories.
The apparatus according to the'invention essentially comprisesl a case or a floor' formvilji'ga' `bed support,.a second case open onone of its faces and adapted to foldfinwardlyr andv` outwardly with respect'to saidrst case whereby the longitudinal' axesof said casesj are laid parallel and'at right angles to each other for transpo-rt and camping. purposes respectively, and' movable panels adaptedltoi extend said irst case vertically for formingy a camping shelter 1n conjunction .with said second case.
Other' advantages invention will vvention `and particulars of the be gathered from the ensuing conjunction with the accomd-iagrammatically andvmerely' by way ofexample and inwhich: f

litt'ed on Vby means ott-enons`4'El formed in they ledges 4b of the cover and slidingl in correspondingy n1ortises4C let into the upper'end 60* of the panels 2. The panels 3 are ixe'dinlike. manner by means of tenons 3a and lmortises 3b. Y
.Acupboard 5 is hinged' as at 5a to one end of the bottom 1 of the case', this cuplboardf'k being -closed down over the floor 1y andv withinthe case, lwhen' about to-'be transported. On the contrary, when theapparat'us iis opened out the cupboard is' raised into tli'e vertical position as shown in Fig. 6.'
In order to prevent the cupboard 5` `from tilting when in vertical position, said cupi board is provided withl abutments Gadapteds" case (see Fig.y 2).v y A [Panels 8 of same length as the panels'Q' but smaller in width, are secured to the'uppe'r` end ofthe longvertical'y panels Qby meansoi' h'inges'l44 and have 'mortisesb let: into their edges 8a for maintaining the' cover in placez"v In packing position,.the panels",arelet` down over' the cupboard whichis itself let down over the bottomloftheicase. f* Q The apparatus according to the'invention;v isuti'lizecl in the followingnmanner. 'v
For transport, theV cupboard` 5 isfcl'osedfA down over the bottoml ofthe case, thepanels Sare let down over `the cupboard 5 and the:
short panels 3 as wellV as thecover'4 ar,e*ix'-ed4 to the long'panels 2.V 77 9o 4 is removed and thenthe shortpanels 3. The panels 8 are swung up and: brougliti-nto y f vertical position extending the long-verticatl toy that OfFig. 9l
panels 2,-the panels 8 being prevented from tilting backwards by tabs 9 securedg v ,to1 said panels, and adapted to abut againsttliesides @when said panels 8 are in vertical' position;
Y The cupboard 5-need then onlyfbe raisedE in order tobring ity into theposition'ofFigf V100 and the tenons 4ZL of the cover 4 are made to engage in the mortises 8b of the panels 8 so as to form a roof. A complete shelter is thus obtained.
As will be observed, the short vertical panels 3 are not made use of in the course of erection of the apparatus. Under these circumstances they may with advantage be abolished and replaced by boards 10 which stay the long panels 2. These boards 10 are preferably mounted in position by means ofV dove-tails 10a. In this wise the panels 2 are prevented from moving out of the perpendicular during transport and the apparatus is eased from strain.
The apparatus may of course also be pro vided with foldable legs 1l which are used, on the apparatus being erected, for raising the bottom 1 of the case in order to shield the occupant from humidity.
In the example which has just been described, it will be noticed that only one end of the apparatus is closed when this latter has been erected cupboard Closing means might however be provided for the opposite end, such as a door for eX- ample.
Figs. 7 to 10 inclusive show a constructional .modification of the apparatus as it has just been described. In this instance the apparatus is essentially constituted by a chest 15 having Va cupboard 16 .hinged to one of its ends and which for transport purposes is closed down over the chest 15. i j
For the erection of the apparatus with a view to utilizing it, panels 17 are provided which are secured to the chest 15 so as to form the side walls of the shelter. These panels 17 are maintained in position by means of locking plates 18. The installation is completed Y by placing the cupboard 16 in its verticalv position and by placing` the roof in position, which latter is formed by boards 19 resting against the edge of the cupboard and the walls ofthe shelter.
The dimensions of the panels 17 and of the boards 19 are such that these latter may be housed within the chest 15 which for this purpose is hollow and is provided with a removable side serving as a door.
Should it be desired to close the shelter completely, a door is provided fitting into the j side of the shelter opposite the cupboard 16,
(namely the end closed by the The apparatus according tothe invention may be made of any suitable material but preferably of wood. Y
lt is obvious that the invention has only been described and illustrated here in a purely explanatory and by no means limitatory manner and that it could be subjected to various modications in detail without departing from the spirit thereof.
