At the same time this spring allows the wheel to raise over solid obstruction such as rock etc., often encountered in actual practice and furthermore the spring causes the raising of the shovel when the picker wheel encounters an object so that the shovel will not strike the obstacle. The casting C is adjustable since the bolt 16 may be loosened so as to slide the casting forwardly or rearwardly.

This adjustment allows the picker wheel and beam to be moved forward and backward for adjustment as the case may require at the same time allowing it to raise and lower. One of these attachments is to be associated with each beam of the cultivator to keep it free oftrash and dirt.

The uses of a duck foot cultivator without this device are limited but with it the cultivator may be used in trashy fields heretobefore shunned by users of the duck beam foot cultivator. It will also be seen that by the prevention of clogging the draft is materially lightened.

It is thought that the construction, utility, operation and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof. The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in detail inerelyv by way of example since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.

It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:

1. A trash clearer for cultivator shovels naled to the cultivator frame, and said wheel being journaled on its opposite end and tensional means between the for urging the wheel against the ground, said tensioning means consisting of a rod pivotally connected at one end to the aforementioned rod, guide means on the cultivator frame, and spring means interposed between the first mentioned rod and the said guide means. i
