Description

S HEATING STOVE iled May 9, 1928 Earl 7366 INVENTOR ATTORNEY Patented May 14, 1929.
PATENT OFFICE.
EARL M. BRANDT, OF IRONTON, OHIO.
GAS HEATING STOVE.
Application filed May 9, 1928. Serial No. 276,446.
This invention relates to stoves primarily adapted to be heated by gas and other tliuels.
An obj cct oil. the invention contemplates a base member having openings adapted to permit the passage of air within the stove.
Another object of the invention comprehends a fire pot carried by the base member and adapted to convey the air passing up wardly through the openings in the base member.
A further object of the invention embodies a burner carried within the fire pot and having orifices disposed in spaced relation to the walls of the fire pot to permit mixing and combustion of the fuel with the air.
More specifically stated the fire pot is pro vidcd with a band upon its upper end to serve as an extension therefor which will prevent flames from coming in direct coir tact with the sides of the stove.
"With the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated. in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective View of the invention, partly broken away to illustrate the construction thereof. 7
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view taken through the invention.
Figure 3 is a transverse sectional view taken on line 33 of Figure 2.
Referring to the drawing in detail, Wherein like characters of reference denote correspending parts, the reference character indicates a base member having a downturned peripheral edge 11 and to the underside of which are connected supporting legs 12. An annular channel 13 within the upper side of the base mcn'iber 10 is adapted to receive and support the legs depending from the bottom or peripheral edges of a stove body 1 1-. Openings 15 of a configuration desired, within the base member 10, are disposed in a circular course within the annular circular channel, the purpose of which will be pres pendent movement of the latter, whereby the heat will be equally distributed circumferentially of the stove body 1 1.
An annular flange 19, provided upon the upper periphery of the fire pot 16, has cutout portions 20 adapted to receive depending ears 21 upon the lower peripheral edge of a band or reflector plate 22. Said plate also provides an extension for the fire box.
A learner in the nature of a hollow disk member 23 provided with openings 24: upon the outer marginal edge, and passing upwardly through the base member and tire box will produce a highly expansible of high temperature and which will be equally distributed upon the stove body incident to the relative arrangement of the base member, fire pot, burner and band or reflector plate.
After the burner has been called into use for a prescribed time, the plate 22 will reflect heat downwardly upon the burner and transform the gas into a highly expansible state.
As shown, the orifices in the burner are elongated or oblong to spread the flame toward the adjacent orifices whereby a circular flame will pass upwardly within the fire pot to evenly heat all sides of the stove body.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is herein-reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended, claim.
Having described the invention, what is claimed is:
A stove comprising a base plate having an annular channel within the upper side thereotl adapted to accommodate the bottom edge of a stove body, said base plate having openings disposed in a circular course within said channel, a fire pot having depending legs upon the lowermost portion thereof to support the lower periphery of the pot in pot in spaced relation to the inner side wall spaced relation to the upper side of the base of the fire pot to facilitate mixing and complate and adjacent the openings therein, the bastion of the fuel emitted therethrough 10 fire pot being outwardly and upwardly with the air passing upwardly within the fire 5 flared, and a burner of hollow disk like forpot.
mation having orifices within the peripheral In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
7 edge thereof being arranged Within the fire EARL M. BRANDT.
