'ln infy companion application, Serial No. 684,753, have disclosed prererred constructions oit detachable electric barriers `for use between high tension conductors and electiical apparatus, `but in practice have Jfound that the usual wall construction of electric power houses, ubstations, etc. are not arranged to conveniently receiv such electric barriers, and it has been found necessary to design special-anchor strips to be iinbedded in the walls to provide a' foundation for the mounting otiny improved barriers. The present application*discloses such anchor strips, and the preferred ineans of securing thein within the brick and concrete walls usually einployed in 'constructing buildings adapted to house high tension electrical apparatus.

The inner faces of the anchor strips 15 are preferably arranged substantially flush with the inner faces of the Walls in Which the strips are imbedded, and the grooves 17 are preferably arranged substantially cen trally between the side edges of the anchor strips 15 With their 'bottomWall spaced a suitable distance from the inner face of the anchor strips. The anchor-strips are preferably molded in suitablev lengths with the socketv blocks, 14 spaced at predetermined intervals upon and lightly secured to one face ofthe mold during the molding operation, the mold face being then stripped off so as to leavethe socket blocks imbedded. ln pouring concrete WallsIV may do Without special anchor strips and provide only a board of substantially the dimensions of the groove desired, and lightly fasten to the board the desired socket blocks at predetermined intervals. The board, accordingly, acts as a form for the groove during the molding of the concrete Wall and holds'the socket blocks 14 in their desired positions with their slotted faces substantially flush with the bottom Wall of the grooves. Then after the Wall has set, the boards maybe removed from the strips, leaving the socket blocks 14l imbedded at their Vdesired positions.
In constructing brick Walls of a power house, etc. in accordance with my invention the anchor strips 15 are positioned at spaced intervals vertically and horizontally, asre-V quired, the bricks being laid around the strips 15. The projections 19 extending from the rear face ofthe anchor strips as. Well as the tapered side Walls ofthe anchor strips serve to securely fasten the strips 15 Within the Wall.
The spacingfof the anchor. strips 15 Within the Wall may be in accordance with the de# sired location lof electrical apparatus, conductors, etc., or they maybe spaced at regular intervals'to permitv ready change of location of electrical apparatus, conductors, etc. as desired after lthe building'is constructed.
When it is desired to position the barrier sections 11 upon the anchor strips 15 the elongated bolts V13` are positioned in the apertures 12 of the barriers and the heads of the bolts passed through the slotted socket blocks 14. The rear portions of the barrier sections are then positioned Within thegrooves of the anchor strips, and nuts 13a threaded upon the bolts and turned until the barriers are secured in place. The sides of the grooves 17 serve tosupport the sides of the barrier sections.
`When horiz'ontalelectric barriers 11a are utilized, it is preferredto havey the-grooves 17a in the anchor strips 15 ofgreater Width than the, grooves 17 used for receivingv the vertical.barriersections 11, and the rear por! tions ot the horizontal barrier sections 1la are provided With a reinforcing portion 1lb (note Figs. 9 and l0) adapted to brace the barrier sections While they engage the anchor strips 15. The widened rear portions of the horizontal barrier sections lla are adapted to lit Within the widened grooves 17a of the anchor strips, and the boltslZ for securing these barrier sections in position pass through the upper portion of the barrier sections substantially as shown in Fig. 10.
Vfhile it will be apparent that the illustrated embodiments of my invention herein disclosed are Well calculated to adequately i'ulill the objects and advantages primarily stated, it is to bevunderstood that the invention susceptible to variation, modification and cl'iange Within the spirit and scope of the subjoined claims.
Having described my invention, l vclaim-- l. An anchor strip tor supporting detachable electric barriers comprising sections ott moldable material adapted to be imbedded Within a building Wall each sect-ion having a groove in its front Jr'ace ot Substantially the width ot the barriers to be used therewith, there being socket blocks secured Within the anchor strip with theirv front faces substantially flush with the bottom Wall ot' the groove, and projections adapted to aid in securing the anchor strips Within the building Wall having one of their ends imbedded Wit-hin the anchor strip.
2. A supporting Wall for electric barriers comprising a Wall having a plurality of spaced vertical and horizontal anchor strips arranged with their front faces substantially flush with the tace of. the Wall and their sides tapered to aid in securing` the anchor strips Within the Wall, each anchor strip having a longitudinal groove in its front tace and a plurality of spaced socket blocks imbedded within the anchor strip with their iront faces substantially flush With the bottom Wall of the groove.
3. An anchor strip for supporting detachable electric barriers comprising sections ot lnoldable material adapted to be imbedded within a building Wall, each section having a groove in its Eront face of substantially the Width of the barriers to be sed therewith, therebeing socket blocks secured Within the anchor strip with their trent :faces substantially flush with the bottoni Wall of the groove, and'V projections adapted to aidv in securing the socket blocks within the anchor strip having one oit their ends imbedded within 'the anchor strip.

An anchor strip for supporting detachable electric barriers comprising sections oi" moldable materiall adapted to be imbedded Within a building Wall, each section having a` groove in its front tace of substantially the Width ofthe barriers to be used therewith, there being socket blocks secured Within the anchor strip with their front faces substantially Hush With the bot- `torn wall of the groove, projections adapted to aid securing the anchor strips Within the building Wall having one of their ends imbedded Within the anchor strip and pro- 'I jections adapted to aid in securing the socket blocks Within the anchor strip hav` ing one of their ends imbedded Within the anchor strip.
