The present invention'relates toles, rasps or like tools.
The files known up to now are made of` now usually cut and to harden it by a spe- 'cial hardening process whereupon the sov formed file may bev mounted on any suitable body,.for instance on to the rim of a rotary j disk, to a bar of wood or of metal and so on. The iron piece of which the file is made may invention ina section,
be fiat, or'eurved lengthwise or crosswise, it. maybe a tube of cireularor any other crosssection.
The invention further consists of details of construction, which together with the fea-Mv tures iirst mentioned, will be better understood by reference to the drawing.
In the drawing v Fig. l shows a rotary tool according to the vFig. 2 isla face view thereof, y
Fig. 3 shows as another tool acco'rdingrto this invention altubular ile in longitudinal section. l
The tool vaccording .to Figs. l and 2 come prises two circular disks 2, inounted 0.11 a shaft l and firmly held thereon by means of a nut 4f screw-'ed on to a screw threaded per` tion 8 ofthe shaft 1 which nut 4 presses the disks on to a collar of shaft l.. The rims of the two disks 2,v 3 are bevelled in opposite directions.
to fit the rims of the disks 2. 8. lBetween the ends of the openring 5 ashort piece 7 is arranged having the saine crosssection as the ring 5.
On the two disks rests a split ring 5, the inner wall of whichis bevelled TO the said piece 7 the'ends` of a flexible, hardened for instance easev hardenedi'ron band-filet) are fastened by. meansv of countersunk screws. l() in the usual manner. By tightening the v nut 4 the disks 2, 3 are brought nearer each.
other and they expand the ring 5 uniformly lwhich is in any position concentric to the shaft l. The band 9 is tightened by eX- panding the ringy andl runs concentric to the axis of rotation. The band 5 is eut while it is flat and is hardened by a special hard-y The file 9 is cut at eningr process. When hardened it isy bent,f
fixed to the piece 7 and then brought on to. `the disks 2, 3,
As shown in Fig. 3 :the toolmay'be made of'a thin walled tube 11 of soft iron. The v of the tube l1 a handle 13 is arranged.v The vtube maybe of circular, rectangular or po- Y lygonal 'crosssection.
'The tube may b e filled with metal such as tube by means of saidmetal.v ,y
