Under the old method of connecting the guy and the anchor, in which the separate means are employed, there was always considerable fr1ct-ion set up between the eye and the guy.
The prime object of the present invention is to provide a simple and eflicient anchor device that will eliminate the objectionable fea-v tures above referred to in the use of anchor devices of the character to which my invention relates.
Further objects of the present invention are, to provide a. combined guy-rod and clamp means of such construction that the guy may be more conveniently attached to the an chor devicethan under the old construction; and a construction combining in a unit devicethe functions of anchoring the guy and clamping the free end of the guy to the mam portion of the guy.

The curved bearing surface 8, on opposite sides, merges into vertically extending grooves or channels 9 formed in the head 6. These grooves 9 are adapted to receive the looped portion of the guy rope and, when the parts are assembled, the said looped portion is maintained in position in the said grooves and on the structure by means of a clampplate member 10.
In addition to the parts or portions mentioned, the head is formed with a plurality of bolt receiving square openingsll and with a hook or attaching means 12. The purpose of the attaching means 12 is to provide simple and efficient means for securing a tackle block or come-along, not shown, employed in applying the guy to the head.
13 designates a series of headed and threaded bolts designed to secure the plate 10 to the head 6, and 14 designate nuts POSL- tioned on the threaded portion of the bolts. Plate member 10 is provided with bolt receiving openings 15 corresponding with the bolt receiving openings .11 of the head and through which the bolts extend when the parts are assembled. Plate member 10 is also formed with Vertically extending grooves 16 similar to the grooves 9 of the head.
In the form of Fig. 4, in place of the hook member 12, I provide an eye 17 for attaching the tackle to the head 6; otherwise, the structure is the same as in the form of Fig. 1.
What I claim is:
1. In an anchoring device, the combination a guy, and an upwardly extending guy' rewith a guy-rod having an integrally formed elongated guy receiving head at one end thereof, and a curved bearing over which the guy is looped, a clamp member for clamping a looped portion of the guy on the head, and
' means for attaching the clamp member to the head.
2. In an anchoring device, the combination with a guy-rod having an integral elongated guy receiving head, a clamp member for clamping a looped portion of the guy on the head, and means for attaching the clamp member to the head, said head having a curved portion adapted 'to'receive and provide a bearing surface for a guy.
3. In an anchoring device, the combination with a guy-rod having an integrally formed elongated head at one end thereof, said head having a curved portion adapted to receive and provide a bearin surface for ceiv n-g groove, a clamp member for clamping a looped portion ofthe guy on the head, and means for attaching the clamp member to the head;
4. In an anchoring device, the combination with a guy-rod having an integrally formed elongated head at one end thereof,.said head having a curved portion adapted to 'IGCGIVG and provide a bearing surface for a guy, and
over which the guy is bent and an upwardly with a guy-rod having an integral head, said head having a curved portion adapted to ceive and provide a bearing surface for a guy over which the guy is bent and a pair of upwardlyextending guy receiving grooves, a clamp member cooperating with the head having a pair of upwardly extending guyreceiving grooves, said grooves adaptedto receive and provide bearings for the looped portion of a guy, and'means for attaching the clamp member to the head. f In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
