This door 13 is adapted to'partly close the inner opening; 12 when the outer door 11 is opened by the valet. To give structural strength to the pair of hanging doors, I connect the lower ends of these two y doors with a plate 22, which board lies between the false-bottom 14 and the main bottorn 6 of the cabinet. This construction provides a box-like structure which may be readily slid back and forth Without binding. To lock the doors in a desired position, I provide a series of bolt-holes 23 along the top board 19, so that the depending bolt 24 of a suitable lock, mounted on the door proper, may enter. This bolt is adapted to be slid from the inside by means of a knob 25 and rollers 20 being employed to facilitate thisV from the outside by means of a key 26, which key will of course be in the possession of an authorized employee of the hotel.

The main purpose of the sliding box-like structure is to permit this apparatus to be used for Ventilating the room without destroying the privacy thereof. With this structure, it will be seen that when the outer door stands open, there will be a clear passageway through the cabinet for ventilation purposes. to its fullest extent, it would be possible for persons in the outside corridor to peepinto the room, were it not for the insid-e door 13, which, when the outer door is opened sufficiently, slides more or less across the inner opening 12 and thus blocks vision through said opening. In view of the staggered relationship of the two openingsy in the walls of the cabinet, it is not necessary, in order to preserve privacy, to entirely close the inner opening 12 when the door 11 is opened wide, and for this reason the inner wide the outer door 11 may be opened, there will always be ventilation through the cabilnet. Ordinarily, i. e., when there is no clothing to be delivered to the valet, the outer door 11 will stand more or less open, to thereby permit constant ventilation of the room, through the door, without destroying the privacy of the room.

What I claim as new is: e

l. A service wardrobe for hotel doors embodying a casing mounted in the door and projecting from the opposite faces thereof, the outer wall of the casing being provided near one edge of the door with a vertical opening and the opposite edge of the inner Wall of the easing being provided with aV similar opening, the two openings being therebyvstaggered, and a sliding door within the casing adapted to open and close the outer opening.

Should the outer door be openedV bodying a casing mounted in the door andv projecting from the opposite faces thereof, the outer wall ofthe casing being provided near one edge ofthe door with a vertical openingnand the opposite edge of the inner Wall of the casing being provided with a similar opening, the two openings being thereby staggered, and a box-like door struc ture-enclosed within the casing and having an outside door and an inside door adapted to respectively cooperate with the outside and inner openings inthe casing, and meansY connecting the yrespective upper and ,lowerV edges of these doors. l Y
