This invention relates to improvements in harness straps for looms. y It has heretofore been customary to emplov harness strapsv ofA braidedr cords and other materials for use on looms, but in actual practice the rate of replacement of these straps is very high, due primarily to inherent weakness of the material of which the straps are made.

An object of the present inventionxis to increase the eiiiciency 'of the strap whereby to effect a reduction in the number of replacements and a consequent sayingin oper` ation costs. y e

`Another object is to provide a connector for a harness strap of simple and inexpensive construction, which will be effective in securely connecting the strap withV a link usually employed for `joining the strap to 2 0 the associated parts of the loom.

The above. and other obiects will appear more'clearly from the following detail description, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, which illustrates a preferred embodiment of the inventive idea.V

It is desirable that each endofthe strapy yhave connected thereto a link 8 for attachment to the associated '.parts ofthe loom. For this purpose there is provided a connector which, as shown in Figure 2.,l is formed ofa singlepiece of metalL stamped or otherwise cut from a suitable sheet. The

connector, before bending, is of substantially I T-shape formation including a shank 9 and a head. 10. Intermediate the ends of the .shank the same is notched. as indicated at 11 at opposite points of the longitudinal edges thereof. The shank is of substantially the same width as the body portion .7 and when securing the latterto the connector one` end of said body portion is placed upon the outer end of the shank with the extremity of said bodyterminating adjacent said .notches vThe shank is then bent upon itself. at said notches. leaving suiiicient space between the end of A/thebody portion andv the bight of the connector for insertion of 'the ends of the link r8. l/Vith the ,two porf tions of the shank now engaged on oppo site sides of the body 7A said portions are instruck, as indicated at 12, to fasten the parts together.
