THURMON H.- TALLEY, OF PLAINVIEW,
, LAMP. I
A Application. filed November 24, 1924, SerialNo. 75 1,8 87.
This invention relates to headlamps and search lights,.and its object is to provide a means for strong light in a forward and,
Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the attachment for lamps.
Similar references refer to like parts in both views.
In the drawings, 1 indicates a lamp-body, the front end of which is partly covered by a rim 2, within the rim is sustained a trans parent lense 8, the rim 2 is secured to lampbody 1 by means of a series of threaded screws 9, which passes through a hole in the rim and a hole in the lamp-body and screws into a series of lugs 42, which are secured to the inside of the lamp-body 1, a tubular or cone-shaped casing having a short side 35, and a long side 36, is removably mounted in the front end of lamp-body by means of .a radial flange 5, engaging the front end of lamp-body 1, and having a series of notches or holes 7, in the outer edge of flange to correspond with the location of lugs 42, and engaged therewith, to prevent a rotary motion of the inner casing, a groove 6 is formed in flange 5, and a gasket of packing substance is placed within the groove 6, and engaging the transparent lense 3, to prevent vibration of lense, and to keep moisture and dust from the reflector. A small flange 38 is formed on the rear or smaller end of the inner casing, a ringn'iember 10'is rcmovably mounted in the smaller end of the casing, a flange 13, on ringmember 10, en-
' gaging flange 38, on the casing, a lamp carrying reflector 43, is removably mounted on the smaller end of the casing, by the out-er edge of the reflector engaging the ringmember 10, and being clamped to the casing by means of a grooved rim 33, the ends of grooved rim 33, are secured together by means of a threaded screw in the. hole 34, in each end of the rim. A plurality of horizontally disposed reflector plates are mounted within'the inner casing, being carried by ringmember l0, 1n the rear end of casmg, said deflector plates are mounted parallel with the principal axis of the lamp, and,
parallel with the principal axis of the main beam, of light issuing from the lamp and reflector.
Fig. 2, is a demountable attachment for lamps, similar in constructionto the inner cas1ng"F1g. 1, having a "plural ty of hor1- zontally disposed deflectori plates mounted therein, parallel to the, principal axis of light issuing from the lamp and reflector,
said reflector being angularly mounted on the rear and smaller end of the casing by means of grooved rim on casing 38, clamping reflector 43, and ringmember 10, tothe cas1ng.-
I do not wish to be limited to the details of construction and arrangement herein shown and described, and any changes or modifications may be made therein within thescope of the subjoined claims.
Having described my invention, I claim:
1. In a lamp, a lamp-body having a cone shaped inner casing removably mounted therein, a lamp carrying reflector mounted on the smaller end of the cone-shapedcasing,
a plurality of deflector plates mounted within the cone-shaped casing, parallel to. the axis of the lamp, and the :main beam of light issuing from the lamp and the reflector.
2. Ina lamp, a lamp body having a cone shaped inner casing removably mounted therein, a lamp carrying reflector'removably supported on the smaller end of the coneshaped casing, a demountable grooved rim as means for'securing the reflector to the cone-shaped casing, a plurality of horizontally disposed deflector plates supported within the cone-shaped casing, and secured thereto.
3. In a lamp, a lamp body having a cone shaped casing ren'iovably mounted therein, one side of the cone-shaped casingshorter thantheopposite side of saidcasing, a small flange on the smaller end thereof, a ringmember removably mounted within the inner casing, and in the rear end thereof and secured thereto, a flange on said ringmember engaging the flange on the smaller end of the cone-shaped casing, a plurality of superposed and horizontally disposed deflector vplates supported within said ringmember, and secured thereto, said deflector plates being mounted parallel to each other,
a lamp carrying reflector engaging the flange on said ringmember, a demountable grooved rim as means for securing said ringmember and said reflector to the rear end of the cone-' tubular shaped casing, a radial flange on the front end of casing, a groove in .the flange, a gasket 1n the groove, a series of notches or holes in the flange, one
shorter than the opposlte side, a grooved rim on the rear end of the casing, a lamp carrying reflector engaged in the grooved rim, and clamped thereto by means of the IUD.
5. In a detachable attachment for lamps, a cone-shaped casing, a reflector removably and angularly mounted on the smaller end side of the casing of said casing, a plurality of horizontally disposed deflector plates sustained Within the casing forward to said reflector, said deflector plates being mounted parallel to the principal axis of the main beam of light issuing from the reflector.
6. In a detachable attachment for lamps, a tubular cone-shaped casing, a lamp carrying reflector removably mounted on the rear end of the casing, by means of a grooved rim, a ringmember mounted within said casv ing,,a plurality of deflector plates mounted in the ringmember, carried thereby, and secured thereto, said deflector plates being for- Ward of said reflector and said lamp, being mounted parallel toeach. other, and parallel to the principal axis of the lamp.
- In testimony whereof, I afiix my signature.
